 - Before the revolution, wouldn't the militias be the same one that the British soldiers are in. If they were against the act, why would they join the militia where British are a part of? Perhaps it's my misunderstanding of the history?

After re-reading the sentence, the 'key cause' and choice B seem to match.

So I have no idea bout what American revolution is but the question is asking me why Quartering Act of 1774 was NOT the key reason behind it?
Going through the options, B exactly does that. If the QA act was overshadowed by literally anything else then it can not be the reason of AR. Hence B
