If all the statements above regarding the possible asteroid collision with Earth are true, then what conclusion can be drawn from them?

A. No comparably catastrophic asteroid collision with Earth has occurred since the one that killed the vast majority of dinosaurs. Not necessarily true. Out of scope.

B. Some members of each dinosaur species were killed either directly or indirectly by the impact of the asteroid collision with Earth. each species? We do not know that. Out of scope.

C. All the members of at least one dinosaur species were killed either directly or indirectly by the impact of the asteroid collision with Earth. Again, no info about specific species in the premise. Out of scope.

D. If the majority of dinosaurs were killed by an asteroid colliding with Earth, some dinosaurs lived at great distances from each other at the time of the collision. Realize that the tone is similar to the premise. "If the majority..." no absolute or extreme language here. We'll hold on to it.

E. It is possible to determine a close estimate of the number of dinosaurs that were killed, either directly or indirectly, by the asteroid collision with Earth. I like the tone, but we do not know that we can come up with an estimate of the number of dinosaurs. Out of scope.

Answer: D

jorgetomas9 this is a kind of a general question, and is hard to answer quickly...
but I would summarise it like this: ask yourself - what else needs to be true in order for the statements given to be true? what are the logical conclusions of the information, which are not themselves written?
