Why cannot |5| be considered as both +5 and -5?
|a| is always equal to a or 0

A value of modulus function is never negative.

Correct option : C

Knowledge required
1. |- x| = (0,x)
2. PEDMAS

|-4| = (0,4)
|-20| = (0,20)

|-4| x (|-20| - 5)
= 4(20-5)
=4 x 15
= 60

|−4|(|−20|−|5|)

When we take the absolute value of a number, we get non-negative number(positive or zero).

|−x|= x

|−4|(20-5)

(4)*15=60

Thanks baba2709. Is this due to all absolute values are all one sides of equations therefore all positive sign as compared to if there is value on the other sides of equation then we will have negative sign when modulus is removed? Thanks
