(1) tells us
5/11 < x < 3/4
to check for 7/12
5/11 < x < 9/12 (7/12 is possible)
to check for 9/13 or 36/52
5/11 < x < 39/52 (9/13 or 36/52 is possible)
Not Sufficient

11/13 < x <1/2
5/11 is out of picture as it is less than 1/2
9/13 is possible as it falls within the range
to check for 7/12 or 91/12*13
132/12*13 < x <1/2 (7/12 or 91/12*13 is possible)

i.e. 0.5 < x < 0.84

Combining the two statements
