Solution

Given:

To find:

    • Is y equal to 25% greater than x?

Approach and Working:

    • We need to find the relation between x and y and that should suffice to answer.

Analysing Statement 1

    • We are given that 75% of x is equal to 60% of y.
o That would give a relation between x and y.

Therefore, Statement 1 alone is sufficient to answer this question

Analysing Statement 2
    • We are given x is 20% less than y.
o That would give a relation between x and y.

Therefore, Statement 2 alone is sufficient to find an answer.

Hence, the correct answer is option D.
