740 in GMAT. Please suggest colleges for full-time MBA.

Question

Hi guys,

I recently wrote the GMAT examination and received an overall score of 740(Q 50, V 40, AWA:5.5, IR:6). I'm planning to pursue Full-Time MBA in USA/Canada. Could someone please suggest colleges which I can look into.

I have around 2 years of experience as a technology analyst from Deloitte Consulting. I am an amateur singer and I actively participate in social work in and around my city. That, in short, is my profile.

I am looking towards an MBA in finance, but I am told that because of my undergraduate degree in Computer Science and a work exp. in the Consulting field, I would not be considered for a Finance degree and should rather look for MBA in Consulting or Strategy. I would be really grateful if someone could help me out regarding this.

A 740 opens up any door you want. There are MANY MANY people who go from Consulting and Computer Science into Finance... If you want to do finance, do finance.

These questions are a bit too general though... What are your career goals, why do you want an MBA, where do you want to live post MBA?

Go to HAVARD! or Princeston or Stanford. I mean really you got a 740 and you dont know where to go. you have 100% of schools in the US giving you open arms. 740? 740?? ARE U SERIOUS! that rediculous

Princeton doesn't offer an MBA.

How was your undergrad institution and GPA? Those could have an impact on your application. A 740 certainly does open the door to any program. Also because you're on the younger side you can apply over multiple years if necessary. Though, when you apply you should truly be ready and give it your all!

I sis my undergrad from Bangalore,India. I have a percentage of around 77 in my undergrad, overall. I understand that 740 is a good score, I'm not denying it; but choosing a college becomes tougher as your score goes towards the higher side. The finance of the study is also a concern. I'm looking for colleges that are in the top 20 for MBA and offer a good scholarship program.

One more question, to everyone in here, any ideas regarding the MFE program? I am intrigued by what I read at Berkeley's site.
