Nez
Please what is the credibility of the gmatclub test? Cos i encountered few question that seems odd to me. such as this one
A major film studio announced the release date of a movie based on a novel that, though it was a bestseller when first published, has been out of print for nearly fifteen years. Hoping to capitalize on the anticipated success of the film, the publisher who owns the copyright on the novel plans to print a new edition to be made available the same week the film premieres.
EACH of the following, if true, supports the soundness of the publisher’s plan to capitalize on the success of the film EXCEPT
The publisher has received permission from the film studio to stamp the words “Now a major motion picture” on the cover of each book.
Last year a new edition of a novel that had been out of print hit the bestseller lists two weeks after a movie biography of its author was released.
The publisher received two hundred thousand dollars after selling the production rights to the film studio.
The actress playing the lead in the film has discussed her love for the novel in nationally televised interviews.
Last year a new edition of an unpopular novel was adapted into a top-grossing film, and sales of the book spiked.Meanwhile some question repeats the options.
I'm about to take the bigger test I redeemed with my kudos. Is that more reliable and without the errors in the free one?
Dear Nez,
I'm happy to respond.
The Quantitative sections of the
GMAT Club tests are superb. I highly recommend those. Those are vetted by that genius Bunuel, so they are all very good. Unfortunately, I don't recommend the Verbal sections as highly. I have seen some good questions and some not-so-good questions from that verbal section.
As a general rule, it's much easier to write GMAT-level math questions than it is to write GMAT-level verbal questions. Most of the math questions on this site from various companies are at least reasonably good GMAT practice math questions, but I have seen truly atrocious verbal questions marketed as if they were of "GMAT quality." As a student, it's important to be discerning in assessing verbal question quality.
MGMAT and
Magoosh have excellent questions, and I have be quite impressed with several Veritas questions.
Here's a
Magoosh CR "except" question:
Violent felonies in DismastonHere's a SC question:
Snow leopardsFor each questions, when you submit your answer, the following page will have a full video explanation for the question.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
