Hello, so I have memorized all verbs that take on that clause on the dictionary of Cambridge lists. (cant post link because im a new member but it is just has an extra space between the cambridge. and the org.
dictionary.cambridge. org/grammar/british-grammar/verb-patterns-verb-that-clause
However, I am still confused as the fact as tow when exceptions are allowed. Clearly "To accept defeat would be humiliating" is correct as accept is being used as a noun rather than a verb, but are there any more such exceptions that I should be aware of? Because right now, the underlying assumption of there being that after all the verbs listed in the link above seems like it would be more likely to hurt my ability to answer questions if indeed there are a multitude of exceptions. Thanks for any help in clarifying this, I have my GMAT in a week and I am finally seeming to understand every verbal question, rather than just relying on my previous English speaking abilities. It is extremely satisfying and really reducing the volatility in my verbal score.
