I have admits from Schulich and Tippie. I have to respond to both of these offers in the second week of November. I am planning to apply at a few more schools and I know it is very early to be making a choice, but need to get a clear picture of these options as the deadline to accept offers is approaching. My profile - Typical: Indian/IT/male GMAT 720 (Q49/V38) - 4 years as a software developer - mostly with startups. Excellent LoRs
The offers are as follows
1. Tippie (STEM accredited MBA program) -- tuition $40k/pa -- Scholarship + GA Total benefit = 38k -- Just need to pay USD 5k for tuition
2. Schulich - tuition USD 94.5k - Scholarship decision awaited. -
Advantages
Tippie
1. I can graduate loan free - which also means stress-free
2. STEM accredited MBA (only a few MBA programs are STEM)
3. I can gain some US experience through GA
4. Very welcoming and warm faculty members - also had a great experience talking to alumni.
5. Smaller cohort - personal faculty - student connect and more opportunities.
Schulich
1. Great reputation in Canada
2. Canada has welcoming immigration laws / no worries about post-study work permit etc
3. Schulich has a great reputation in marketing.
4. Very welcoming and warm faculty members - have attended several York university events in Delhi
5. Located in Toronto - a hub in itself and great Indian community
Welcoming immigration laws at Canada are a great advantage. Schulich has great reputation for marketing. I am kind of familiar with the culture as I have attended many of their events.
