In my experience (not first hand though) is that it is hard for EMBA and PT students to participate in on-campus events in a meaningful fashion for 2 reasons:
1. Timing of these events and what it takes to run up to them and follow up after. It is a time commitment that is hard to keep with a job but definitely not impossible. At the same time, some folks find these events a bit revolting as a company may be looking to hire 20 folks and 200 apply and so you have large groups of applicants chasing after the best of the jobs and "death circles" of them surrounding company repts/alums who come on campus. Unless you thrive in that environment you may find it a bit below you to participate in many and rather pick/choose.
2. The positions that are usually recruited for on campus are targeted towards mid-management and 28-year-olds. If you are 35, for example, you will be older than most recruiters coming on campus and potentially recruiting for a more senior position than theirs.
In my experience a lot of EMBA recruiting happens off-campus (on your own) or by connections you create with your classmates and chatting after class/during group projects about your career goals and plans and them connecting you with their network. These are the best opportunities and you tend to have the best chances to convert.... but all this has a large element of randomness and luck. You may meet your future spouse in one of these programs and there is no way how the randomness will impact your experience, and the hard part is separating luck and facts.
