@bb- Hi , the overall 2 year cost for Tepper after deducting scholarship will be 90k and for Mcdonough 60K.

kinjiGC - I have heard a lot about how good Tech is at Tepper. But since I am interested in Financial Services, I am not too sure about its Finance placements. Even in the employment report, the percentage of students who got placed in finance is very less.

So, McDonough is 33% less than Tepper ... meaning, if Tepper added an additional scholarship to equal McDonough, it'd drop the price 33% ...

With that info, I'd probably take Tepper ... but ... if you were open to living with your folks and you got a bit more money from McDonough, I'd seriously (!!) consider it over Tepper.

PS - David Tepper is a big time money manager and is an alumnus of CMU and is the man the school is named after.

Tepper is a tech school because CMU is a very good CS brand and 35% of the Tepper class goes to Tech PM (at least in my class) and that is by choice. Tepper has very strong finance faculty and there are student that go into IB, Asset Management, Finance Manager role in tech or other industries. My suggestion would be to network with a CMU Tepper alum from Finance specific role or current student who has interned at Finance role and ask his or her experience. I think that discussion would be helpful for you to understand the fit for your roles and experience at Tepper.

All the best

Congrats on the Admit and scholarship khanna93.

McDonough - Top two path for students here is IB/Finance and Consulting. McDonough is strong in these two areas. Lots of Banks and a few consulting firms(EY, PwC, and KPMG) hiring for financial services roles. Fintech is growing at MSB. I can connect you with people from the Fintech club if it helps.

I would suggest talking to the career services or students who got into IB/Finance at both the schools and decide. Let me know if you want any help in discussing the financial services/IB recruiting at MSB.

Hi guys,
I ended up choosing Tepper and it has been a great experience so far. I am recruiting for consulting, and Tepper seems to be great on that front. Consulting recruits more people than any other industry at Tepper. I am happy with my decision. Thanks everyone for the valuable inputs.

Thank you so much for your feedback and your post!
It is awesome to hear back from someone who has made the decision and really enjoying it. Good luck with the internship/recruiting!!!
