Hello All,
I would love your insights to help choose between USC Marshall ($80K scholarship) and McCombs($20K scholarship).
McCombs: $20k scholarship
USC Marshall : $80k scholarship
Background: I have 5 years work experience as Software Developer (2years) and Tech Business Analyst (3years)
Post MBA goal: Tech Product Management
My personal research- Both programs have decent placement in Tech. Marshall currently ranks higher than McCombs. However, the ranking difference seems to be insignificant and people do owe Marshall's rank climb to some strategic moves. (I am not sure what to make of it)
Marshall still seems to be cheaper after considering lower fee of McCombs and higher living cost of California. (Correct me if I am wrong)
** Funding is a major consideration as I will be relying heavily on loan and even small difference is important for me **

Wow. We have another Marshall Admit! It seems everyone on GMAT Club is going to Marshall 
Congratulations!
Your recruiting will be better out of McCombs but the money makes a lot of difference. So $80K is 50% scholarship?
Austin will be much better than downtown LA (USC is in a rough neighborhood). In terms of LA vs. Austin, hard to tell. Many feel Austin is a fun college town vs. LA but you get 100 degree weather 6 months out of the year (that's 35+ Celsius for you).
It may be worth asking McCombs if they would be kind enough to match your scholarship since funding is paramount to you. They may consider it.
McCombs places very well into all the tech companies that have recently (in the last 20 years) moved to Austin area. You will have cheaper cost of living too though likely fit in better in LA which is full of random people who are from all over the world.

Indeed the scholarship amounts to around 60% tuition.
I am really inclined to USC now.
