Hi -

I was waitlisted at NYU with the same GMAT. Possible, but you will have to sell your story!

NYU has a unique application and I really did enjoy putting it together (pick 6"essay").

Advice I wish I knew before applying - you need to reach out to a minimum of 10 students. Specifically students who are pursuing the career path you want to pursue. Apparently, students sit in on admissions and will tell the committee whether or not they spoke with you. If any current Sternies can dispute this rumor, please. But, I have it on good authority this is the case.

Good Luck!

There's no hard number but Stern and many of the other T15s are big on engagement.

If you're just engaging with one or two people thinking that you'll get things done, it rarely ever helps. Because the level of engagement isn't enough.

The rest of the things you said about students sharing their opinions about prospect engagement is true. And alumni recommendations are taken seriously too.

Business School admissions are a lot about networking as much they are about storytelling.

Hi

I recently gave the GMAT FE and scored 655 (93 percentile) with the below break up (81 percentile in Quant, 86 percentile in verbal & 90 percentile in DI).
I will have 3 yrs of work ex by the time I apply for R1.
I am currently a part of a B4 consulting firm with 2 promotions over the last 2 years.

What are my chances of getting into NYU Stern MBA program with my current profile?

You're really close to your target score for NYU. I strongly recommend retaking.

**Overrepresented pool candidates have to score higher

*** There can be an exception for non-traditional candidates
