Those are Absolute Value (modulus) Symbols . The absolute value (or modulus) \(|x|\) of a real number x is x's numerical value without regard to its sign.
For example, \(|3| = 3\); \(|-12| = 12\); \(|-1.3|=1.3\); \(|0|=0\).

The symbol is called Modulus and it gives the absolute value of the number inside the symbol (2 vertical bars).
For eg |-2| = 2 and |2| = 2.
