Figured I'd start the thread rather than just talk about it. dont want to bring any more misery to the happy Yale board. So lets talk strategy on how we weasel are way in from here. Also, hopefully this can help some waitlisted candidates in future years.

As for the SOM waitlist, I'm not sure what to share with ad-com. I started managing another employee right after I submitted my app, so I'm not sure if that's significant or not (I hadn't managed anyone before). I did share this with the person who interview me, so not sure if it counts as an update or not. Also, don't think I can write a whole page about that. I also have no former Yale or prestigious MBA contacts, so I don't think I can come up with the recommendations necessary to impress ad-com. Any ideas out there?

Hahaha I love the weasel comment. I'm also on the waitlist and think your experience managing another employee would be a significant update.

I don't have Yale specific waitlist advice but major movements off the waitlist typically occur after R2 once the adcom has a better idea regarding the composition of the incoming class. I understand that waitlisters want to get off as soon as possible but there are many waitlist guides out there that I think would be helpful to read before you fire off your one bullet.

This point is particularly important: "If you are able to complete any of the above, send them an update and continue to show how interested you are. You only get ONE chance at an update, and it should be extremely well crafted, professional, impressive, and with the correct timing. Your goal should be to get your name as HIGH up on that waitlist as possible b/c it might be the difference between getting in and not getting in."
Measure twice, cut once.
