The video interview is basically (and eerily) similar to the TOEFL Speaking section.

For the “give me an example” questions use STAR format https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Situation ... on,_Result - in a nutshell, tell the story beginning, middle and end.

Eliminate “ums” and stuff – but the key to doing well here is to be as NATURAL as possible.

Do NOT have a script on the screen and “read” from it.
Do NOT sound like a robot who memorized each of the answers.
Do make little grammatical mistakes – it’s charming.
Smile.

And all the basic stuff like dress accordingly, check wifi, be aware of your backdrop. *Do not have posters of naked women on the wall behind you.*

If you not yet subscribed, please join us there! I will post them here as well. Was only able to get the questions from 2 clients so far, hoping for a third. But far better than nothing.

How much weight video interviews usually have? Are they really crucial and a deciding factor? thanks

Hi, admissions has said that the video questions are not to exclude but to include. So if you do well on them but not as well in other areas of the application it would be a reason for them to have you go to interviews. However based on what they have said it's not criteria they use to exclude candidates. In terms of absolute weight among all items in the application, I have no idea to be honest with you I'm not sure anyone does.

Hi Lucas, honestly I really don't know. I have not really looked at the set of questions from that standpoint but I definitely will going forward. You would probably be better off to post this in the Forum and ask the people who recently went through this. I would say the January Forum because they recently did this.

Another question - There are several places in the application where it asks for the last date, however, the activity or the job hasn't ended yet and hence there isn't any last date. How should i fill these dates then? Any thoughts would be helpful. I am facing this issue in multiple places. Thanks

Just a quick question, is it better to answer the video question with a personal experience or a professional one?

For example, if asked "Tell me about a time when you had to deliver bad news. What was your strategy? ", should i talk about when i had to lay off someone from work or when i told a friend that someone died?

Hey, this is answered few messages above.

It is not clear, I would say that use the one you like the most for each question unless it is specified.

In the end, it is for them to know you as a person and you combine both.
