I am an ardent Public Speaker, who has been part of Toastmasters for 2.5+ years. I started as a member in August of 2015 and till now, performed various Leadership Roles at TMI.
I am the Area Director for 4 corporate Toastmasters Club from June 2018.
Professionally, I work for Deloitte as an SAP MM Consultant – My Core Sectors have been Life Sciences
& Entertainment Sector.
I have also worked in the S&O unit for my current client. I wish to work in the S&O sector post my PGP and I have garnered experience for the same during my
time at Deloitte.
I previously worked at Infosys Ltd. until January 2018. I have 4.4 years of experience in the SAP SCM domain in
Below are my Academic Details: -
• 10th ICSE – 81%
• 12th ISC – 75%
• Engineering (Computer Science) – 7.3 (Silicon Inst. Of Technology, Bhubaneshwar)

I want to know what are my chances at ISB and what kind of GMAT score will help me reach there. Thanks.

Hi,
ISB assesses each applicant holistically. Significant weightage is placed on the following:
- Profile: This includes your educational background, the quality and tenure of your work experience, and your participation in extracurricular activities.
There is not a significant amount of information available to assess the quality of your work experience. It would be helpful to have a bit more clarity around your exact role, the impact of our decisions, the kind of teams you work with and the scope of responsibilities and duties delivered by you. However, a compelling case can be built around your experiences in a technical domain and consulting. Toastmasters can contribute significantly to your profile, given that last year onwards, activity around Toastmasters has picked up significantly. Lastly, your experience in S&O at Deloitte positions you extremely well as compared to your peers. Deloitte USI and India are major recruiters at ISB, and your prior experience will make you a suitable candidate for these companies.
- Application: This includes your essays and Letter of recommendation (LoR). Your essays will compose of answers to two crucial questions that ISB asks as a part of their application. Along with the essays, an LoR will be sought from your supervisors at work
Essays are a crucial aspect of an ISB application. You are expected to be succinct while justifying the need for an MBA at this stage of your life. If you can create a compelling story that justifies an MBA from ISB as a means of transition from your short-term goals to medium term and long-term goals, you should not face any challenges in this regard. You should also be confident of your unique contributions to the class, and highlight the same in your application. We recommend you leverage your diversity in your application essays as that is your biggest USP. Your career goals need to be presented in a compelling fashion, with a natural flow established between where you are currently and how ISB’s PGP plugs the gap to enable you to achieve your long-term objective. Given your experience, and from whatever little insight that can be derived from your profile, you can comfortably establish a natural flow between your current position, the need for an MBA and your long-term flow.
- Test Score: Your GMAT/GRE score will be representative of your reasoning and aptitude-related abilities. It can be used to compensate for the lack of stellar academics
Given your profile, a score of 710+ positions you well for the ISB admissions process. Since you will not fall in the “diverse” pool, owing to your engineering degree, you will need to secure an above average GMAT score. Given that, strong essays and a positive LoR from your evaluator will certainly boost your chances of getting an ISB admit
Hope this helps!
