Dear friend
and
Dear Sajjad1994

what is the exact inference from this question?
We need to check the difference between Rain & Run-Off of the months mentioned and the previous month. Then we need to check the highest difference (Mentioned - Previous) between the arrived differences
OR
we need to check each two consecutive month (based on those in answer choices) to see, which has lesser rain off and greater Rain?
When I read question, at first I answer the question by second inference, when I came to explanation by Rocky, I saw a complete different analysis.
The way I solved, was to just compare months to see if the one written in answer choice has lesser rainoff compared to past and higher rain, compared to past month

As compared with the previous month, the only month with a greater average amount of rain and a lesser average amount of runoff is__________, when the average amount of rain exceeds the average amount of runoff by approximately____________inches.

We need to check the difference between Rain & Run-Off of the months mentioned and the previous month. Then we need to check the highest difference (Mentioned - Previous) between the arrived differences

Mentioned Month: Jan
Diff: ~1.75
Previous Month: Dec
Diff: ~2.9
Result: Difference is greater in Dec than in Jan.

Mentioned Month: Mar
Diff: ~1.5
Previous Month: Feb
Diff: ~1.5
Result: Difference is same in both months.

Mentioned Month: Jul
Diff: ~3.5
Previous Month: Jun
Diff: ~2.3
Result: Difference is greater in Jul than in Jun by ~1.2 inches.

Mentioned Month: Dec
Diff: ~2.9
Previous Month: Nov
Diff: ~2.7
Result: Difference is greater in Dec than in Nov by ~0.2 inches.

First Blank - Jul
Second Blank - 3.5

Hi,

It would be easy to go by options mentioned in the drop downs.
You have to compare the option with the previous month and check the average rain and run off inches. Also for the second drop down if you answer first correctly then only you can get correct answer.

This is not a really nice way to solve this. This question requires you to find a blue graph greater than the previous blue graph. Once you find that, compare the red graph. If the red graph is smaller than the previous red graph, that is your month.
