Question

Just finished my second Gmat Exam. Sadly it end with score 620 (Q48 and V28). At the first try I score 640 (Q50 and V26). After my first test I decide to join e gmat course. But after 2 months preparing the score is not hardly improve. (in fact it decreased)

Please help me I dont know what to do right now

I'm sorry to hear that this 2nd attempt did not turn out better. Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied in total? Over the last 2 months, how many hours did you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used over the course of all of your studies? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

If you took your Official GMAT at a Test Center, then you might also choose to purchase the Enhanced Score Report. While the ESR doesn’t provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what went wrong on Test Day (and what you should work on to score higher). If you purchase the ESR, then I'll be happy to analyze it for you.

That's sad, but don't loose hope and try to find out what caused dip in the score.

Could you please share some information as I too am considering taking e-gmat course, and knowing few things would help me in making my decision.

1. Did you complete the course?
2. Can you share your six sigma mock scores and official test mock scores, if you have taken? 
3. Did you finish all the lessons and quizzes?
4. How did you perform in the quizzes. I mean did you cross the threshold that e-gmat sets?
5. What was your performance in individual sections of e-gmat.

Hey  andyhan ,

We are sorry to hear that you did not do well on the test. We are equally surprised at your result since all our metrics predicted a better score on the GMAT. However, is this the first time we have seen this happen? The answer is a resounding - NO. Hence, IMO this score seems to be an outlier. We can definitely turn this around if we work together.

I have analyzed your account and attempt data, and I found that you are a diligent student and have done many things well. However, there are two areas that may have led to such a result –

1)   Lack of Test Readiness  : While we see a lot of students doing well on hard cementing quizzes, just like you did – there is one last step that ensures you can consistently perform at the 90th percentile level on the test. It’s  test readiness and stress testing . During the last two weeks of your preparation, this rigor was missing, and this may have led to stress faults on the test like the ones you faced on your last two Mocks where your CR & RC scores fluctuated heavily. The importance of mastering the transition from an SC to CR or CR to RC question is something that can only come with test readiness. In fact, we ensure every e-GMAT student that is part of our reputed Last Mile Program does this to a tee. (More on this later)

2)   Fatigue Failure  : Most students out there believe that taking daily tests or Mocks before the test helps them out. I will cite the example of Ojas – I want you to  watch his story  and learn about his GMAT journey. I'm sure you will find a lot of similarity. As I said, we have seen this before and we have been able to transform failure into success. Ojas was a part of my Last-Mile cohort.

I see the diligence with which you have completed the Verbal course and I think the lack of practice may have done in you in a little bit with Quant. These are issues that are extremely easy to fix.
