Hi all, I'm a R3 (1/20 application deadline) applicant. Do you think there's any possibility the admissions committee might release a decision earlier?
I think Foster is my first choice. I'm getting very stressed out because I've been accepted to another program which is my very close "second choice" (with a substantial scholarship). The other school's admitted students weekend (April 11- 13) is the same as Foster's.
If I don't hear back from Foster until 3/30 (assuming I'm admitted), making travel plans to go to Seattle will be very difficult with just two weeks notice. I would want to attend the admitted students weekend in April rather than May, so that I can evaluate UW before a deposit (for EITHER school) is due.
Can anyone weigh in on this? Would it be reasonable to ask the admissions committee if they could provide a decision earlier so that I finalize travel plans given the very tight turnaround between the decision date and admitted students weekend (plus the fact that I need to make a final decision on the other school just two weeks after UW's decision dates)?
Also, does anyone know when UW's deposit would be due, if we are accepted and decide to matriculate?
Finally, along a different topic, the other school is paying for travel and hotel for admitted student's weekend. Is that typical? Does anyone know if Foster does that? Just wondering.
Thanks!
