So invites start coming out on Thu?

That's what Wharton's admissions blog said. Invites are supposed to go from 1/26-2/28. Has anyone looked into the pace of round 1 invites or even last year to see how many invites go out early / late in the date range or whether they're spread fairly evenly?

I would like to know this as well. Do they come in waves like Ross? Or piecemeal?

But I also have a specific question for you sej616,..i see your profile says real estate,...I also applied to Wharton R2 specifically for the real estate finance curriculum (my background is real estate finance)....do you think this helps? That is, do they compare applicants specifically intent on focusing on real estate finance against each other or the general pool? And could it help in the sense that, on a certain level it answers the Why Wharton? question,...since its common knowledge that Wharton has the best offerings for real estate?

Let me know if you've talked to anyone w/ knowledge about how that works. Thanks.

mooze - I don't know how the answer, but definitely post it if you find out. My background is real estate finance, as well. I work in acquisitions for a private equity firm that focuses on CRE. I actually applied under a career change, though, and said I wanted to switch to finance (so transferable skills) in the renewable energy industry (had some exposure here at my PE firm as they also had an infrastructure fund). The RE finance program at Wharton was definitely a draw, though, just in case I end up deciding to stay in my field.

From my observations I can say that in R1 rather small number of invites came out the very first day. More invites were sent out in batches over the next weeks. Probably R2 is going to be similar.

Is that true... I thought most of the invites came on the first day... They started coming out at noon time or so

The invites were rather random--I was invited to interview on the last notification day of R1 (and I'm an admit, so the invite order isn't indicative of your chances). I know I was pretty anxious during the whole interview notification period since they didn't let me know until the release date. Good luck!

Second the notion about invites. I know a TON of people who got them all the last day and almost all of us were accepted. Good luck to everyone tomorrow, hopefully I will see you all at Wharton next year.

So tomorrow begins the month from hell, waiting to hear from Wharton. I received the Booth invite on the first day of the invitation period. I seriously doubt that I can be that lucky twice. Tough, my fortune cookie today read - 'New and rewarding opportunities will soon develop for you.' And, we all know fortune cookies are never wrong. :-D

Want to second a few posts above: I'm a R1 admit who received my interview invite in the dying hours of the last day and did the interview over the phone. (Visa issue, but I'm also a Penn undergrad so I had good reason to do without the campus visit).

I also know of a few folks who received the invites relatively early and were able to attend hub interviews, but did not get in.

I understand it's hard to be waiting when many of your peers have received invites, but I hope this helps a bit.

Good luck to all!

788512AM said they may start coming out around noon. But who knows!

I'm so glad I stumbled on GMATClub. I was a bit late jumping in on the forums, but there are so many supportive and encouraging people on these boards, it's crazy! Thanks to all the R1 applicants and current students for your comforting words while the rest of us start this period of impatient nail-biting. :)

Separately, if I recall, we received emails around noon or 1pm EST. However, the status on the ApplyYourself changed way before then (I think the completed thing disappeared or something). Don't wear out those F5 keys!

I am a R2 applicant. My application status still says 'Submitted'. I dont think it ever said 'Completed'
