Has anyone recently submitted their application? I just submitted mine but did not get a confirmation e-mail that my application was received. I didn't get a notification when my recommendations were submitted. Is that normal for Wharton? Can anyone help? Thanks guys!

Hi Cheetos1 and h2g22012,

Indeed they do not seem to send out confirmation emails. No need to worry though. You can check from the applyyourself site if the references have been submitted and if your application has been submitted. If so, there is nothing to worry about. I think it said that you will get an email after your application is processed (by a real person I assume). In a week or two I guess.

okay thanks! I am so nervous... can't focus on HBS :(

Forget about Wharton for now and focus on your next application. You can't affect the outcome of your Wharton application anymore but you can do a lot for your HBS one!

Just submitted Wharton app for R2.

I so so HATE applyyourself. I had to edit my app 11 times because many fields, which I had filled within the character limit, would simply get cut off in the final PDF version of the app.

Submitted over 2 hours before the deadline. I'm quite proud of myself. I submitted my Kellogg application 5 minutes prior to their deadline so this is an improvement. And ApplyYourself SUCKS!

Back again this year. Submitted my application 45 minutes before the deadline - excellent. Hopefully I'll have more success than last year, but I'll feel better either way knowing that I gave it one more solid effort.

I submitted my application yesterday. To echo MAFA, does anyone know when we can expect to hear back regarding interviews? I saw last year invites went out early to mid-February. The forum posters seemed to know the schedule ahead of time though. Perhaps an e-mail will go out in the coming weeks with more information?

Here is a WSJ article about the changes in interviewing tactics at Wharton..

https://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204368104577139031236229636.html?KEYWORDS=business+school

Quote:
This admissions season, business school alumni are the ones facing rejection.

Graduate schools including University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School are bypassing alumni in admissions interviews to meet directly with M.B.A. candidates in person or via Skype videoconferencing, despite the potential higher costs, in an attempt to ensure interviews are being conducted in a uniform manner—and in English.

For those wondering about application receipt confirmations, I submitted my application a day ahead of the deadline and just received an email with information about interview notifications etc.

Which states the following:

=====================
Thank you for submitting your application for Round Two.

The following will provide you with information concerning the processing of application materials, timeline for the release of interview invitations, and final decision releases.

If your online account reads "Complete - Round Two," your application has all the required materials, has been processed by the Operations Team, and has been forwarded to the Committee for review.

If your online account reads "Received," then the Operations Team needs to process your online application submission and any materials submitted by hard copy. After your materials have been processed (assuming they arrived before the Round Two deadline), your online account will be changed to "Complete for Round Two" and your file will be forwarded to the Committee for review. Due to the high number of candidates who submitted their application during the past few days (more than 60% of candidates applying for Round Two submitted their application within 24 hours of the deadline), it will take the Operations Team several days to complete the processing of all materials. Therefore, please allow the Operations Team until Tuesday, January 10th before inquiring about the completeness of your application.

The Admissions Committee will release interview invitations between Thursday, January 26th and Tuesday, February 28th. Due to the nature and complexity associated with the admissions process there is no particular order in which invitations are released. Also on February 28th, the Committee will release all final admissions decisions to candidates that are not being invited for an interview and therefore no longer being considered for admission.

If you are invited for an interview, you will need to complete your interview by Friday, March 9th. Interviews will be available on campus with second-year Wharton MBA Students who are full members of the Admissions Committee and off campus in various "Hubs" around the world by Admissions staff members. All interview options are equally considered within the admissions process.

Candidates who are offered an interview will receive their final admissions decision by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Friday, March 30th.

Thank you again for applying to Wharton. We look forward to reading your application.
=============

I checked my application and it says: "Complete - Round Two" so they managed within two days to check that my application was complete and is now forwarded to the adcom. They did say though that some applications might take until the 10th to be checked and forwarded to the adcom.

Does anyone know when we will hear back for interviews?

between 28th jan and 29th feb.

btw, my application status is "Complete - Round 2" , which means is under review, my god, it feels so real! hahah

anyways, I felt my booth app was more solid than Wharton. I did a huge mistake, i wrote the essays for both at the same time, but when i applied to wharton I noticed that the application was not very well rounded because "in my mind" i considered some stuff I mentioned in Chicago's application.

Anyways, now prepping HBS and MIT applications. With my 105 toefl score i would need a miracle at HBS

actually interview invites will be sent between 1/25 and 2/28 (the mid decision release date).
