Has it been written anywhere explicitly that invites will start flowing in at a particular date? I remember reading the AdCom blog where they just mentioned that invites will flow in by oct end...did I miss any email?

This is the email I got 2 or 3 days after submission:

Thank you for submitting your application for Round One.

The following will provide you with information concerning the processing of application materials, timeline for the release of interview invitations, and final decision releases.

If your online account reads "Complete - Round One," your application has all the required materials, has been processed by the Operations Team, and has been forwarded to the Committee for review.

If your online account reads "Received," then the Operations Team needs to process your online application submission and any materials submitted by hard copy. After your materials have been processed (assuming they arrived before the Round One deadline), your online account will be changed to "Complete for Round One" and your file will be forwarded to the Committee for review. Due to the high number of candidates who submitted their application during the past few days (more than 60% of candidates applying for Round One submitted their application within 24 hours of the deadline), it will take the Operations Team a approximately a week to complete the processing of all materials. Therefore, please allow the Operations Team until Tuesday, October 11th before inquiring about the completeness of your application.

The Admissions Committee will release interview invitations between Thursday, October 27th and Friday, November 11th. Due to the nature and complexity associated with the admissions process there is no particular order in which invitations are released. Also on November 11th, the Committee will release all final admissions decisions to candidates that are not being invited for an interview and therefore no longer being considered for admission.

If you are invited for an interview, you will need to complete your interview by Friday, December 2nd. Interviews will be available on campus with second-year Wharton MBA Students who are full members of the Admissions Committee and off campus in various "Hubs" around the world by Admissions staff members. All interview options are equally considered within the admissions process.

Candidates who are offered an interview will receive their final admissions decision by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, December 20th.

Thank you again for applying to Wharton. We look forward to reading your application.

Sincerely,
Wharton MBA Admissions Committee
Lauder Admissions Committee

Any past history to show how the invites go out? I know they give a 2 week window but do a large majority get notified on the 27th or will we be stuck holding our breath for 2 weeks.

Last year they did it on two specific Fridays. But they also told us that it would be those two days and only those two days...

If I didn't receive an email confirmation, should I be concerned? My Wharton application on the website says complete Round 1, but never got this email everyone else seems to have... Should I contact Wharton about this or just let it go?

I would check your spam / junk email folder and see if it got routed into there. If you still can't find it then you should probably contact wharton to double check that you are actually being considered for R1 and that your app didn't get lost in the shuffle. I received mine Oct 4th in case that helps with your search.

Yeah no luck in the spam/junk/trash folders. I had been receiving periodic emails from "The Wharton School" on various programs, etc they had going on, but haven't had anything for awhile. I'll contact Wharton to make sure I'm in the correct pot. Thanks for the help.

I think most applicants get informed on the first day interviews go out. Its just like HBS were the highest density of invitations is on the first day and then it lowers drastically. They have to be politically correct about this process and say that there is no special formula or order to how invitations come out but its safe to assume that by the time the 27th comes, they will have read a great portion of applications and release invites for the ones they like, and on the days after that, they will finish readin the rest and invite as they are read, but the density of invitations per day goes down after first day dramatically.

I just got an e-mail telling me about a "chat" regarding interviews. It said to join to ask any interview-related questions.

Is it safe to assume this is a mass e-mail, or should I actually get excited because this might mean something -that I will probably get an interview invite in a couple of days?
