I don't see any new thread for Wharton waitlisters, so here's my bid for collective moaning.

My theory is that they just ran out of time evaluating all R1 candidates, so those they didn't get to they put on the WL. That's one advantage of not accepting any additional WL info - you can treat them exactly as R2 candidates because you're not comparing different amount of info for each candidate. I fully expect another inexplicable ding next week...

Kellogg and Booth both HAD facebook pages of over 250 students before r2 acceptances. Their class size is HALF of Wharton's. Something is wrong and I expect people to be admitted in r2. Either most of the r2 interview candidates or I HOPE a lot of r1 waitlisters.

I know a guy who just got admitted for Rd 2, got the call earlier this week - probably explains the movement in the fb groups. Haven't heard anything waitlist tho

I certainly hope this is the case, although there could be other explanations too, such as Wharton may not promote the facebook group as strongly to new admits as other schools do. I also think it's interesting that within this forum Wharton is the only school I noticed that had more WL's reported in round 1 than admits. Small sample size probably makes that irrelevant though. Anyways, one week to go - good luck everybody.

Now that we have exhausted all forecasting/speculation methods, perhaps we should move onto other topics. Anyone see the new South Park last night?

There were also less than 250 people at Wharton's R1 Welcome Weekend. I honestly think a lot of you waitlisters are going to hear good news next Friday! Good luck everyone!

Thank you, this was the most helpful "fact" we heard so far.

Hogwarts' inside info does provide some hope but I think we should also factor in admits who could not attend.... both domestic and especially international students. International student are almost 36% of class.
