Hi all,

I'm applying for an MBA, here's my profile:

27 yo Male from America
GPA: 2.4/4
GMAT: 615 (Q81, V79, DI81)
WE: 4.5 years (5 by spring of 2025) as a military officer
Extracurriculars: college football player at a service academy

Schools that I’m applying to and I'd like to know what my chances are for them:

Marshall
Anderson
McCombs
Hi mikegmatnew123 , I hope you are doing well.

Your profile looks nice, as a military officer and former college football player at a service academy, it shows strong leadership, discipline, and teamwork, qualities that MBA programs value. However, your GPA of 2.4 and GMAT score of 615 are below the typical averages for competitive programs like Marshall, Anderson, and McCombs. If possible, retaking the GMAT to achieve a higher score with 10 or 20 + points can make your profile more competitive. To strengthen your candidacy, you shall focus on highlighting your leadership experiences, impact in the military, and teamwork on the field. Address your academic performance with an optional essay, focusing on growth and resilience. You can consider taking MBA Math or supplemental coursework to demonstrate your commitment to academic readiness. Additionally, have backup options among schools with slightly lower average GMAT and GPA ranges to ensure you have strong opportunities for acceptance.

If you’d like, we are happy to discuss more details about your work experience, leadership roles and extracurriculars to assess your chances better and strengthen your application with impactful stories.

Cheers!
