I have more than 5 years of data analytics work experience in EXL and got an admit to ESADE Business School in the 2021 session. I did the first term there but my father was not keeping well due to the stress of the hefty student loan. Also, our house was held as collateral with the bank, which added to my father's worries and he subsequently went into depression. For the above reason, I had to come back to India to look after my family. I took the decision to quit the MBA to prioritize my father's well-being. Now, I am joining a company and simultaneously trying to get an admit to a reputed Indian school (IIM A, B, C, XLRI, SP Jain etc.).

Undergraduate CGPA - 7.12 (from IIEST Shibpur)
Work experience - 5.5 years
What are my chances of getting a good Indian admit considering the above constraints?

I think your chances are good. You could consider applying for an executive MBA at one of the top IIMs.

Hi there,
I dont see a problem in applying to Indian bschools.
IMO, you did what you felt was right to support your family and that shows charater and a value system in place. Bschools would respect that and appreciate your desire to work towards your career. Bring out your extenuating circumstances in your application. I know most Indian bschools don't have an optional essay where you can explain your circumstances, but there is typically space within the job description part of the application to explain career gaps. Use that space to convey your story.
