I have recently completed my GMAT test. Now, I’m planning to apply for the top B-schools, part time. I have a few questions; can you please answer them?
Hi AnotherGmater... happy to try to tackle some of your questions here and good luck to you!Can you please elaborate the process how to take it from here?
Do I have enough time to apply for the Summer semester?
Most top MBA programs in the US don't have a summer semester (some do if they are on the quarter system and it is part of the program or if it is a particular program like the JTerm at Columbia) However, for online and part-time programs yes they do and it would depend on many factors- Visa status, deadlines for school etc to know if there is still time- might be better to target fall entry at this point.Does it make any difference in the end result from the semester, Summer Vs Fall, I chose to enter a B-school ?
For part-time programs it does not matter when you start. What are the things that I need to have to start preparing my application?
You should first begin with why you want the MBA and what kind of skills you hope the MBA will bring you to progress in your career. I would do that first- we have some very helpful exercises that we run our clients through that helps them to really understand their core strengths which is very helpful in applying. After this- the next step is to look at the essays, devise an outline plan and then - and only after you have a solid outline- begin writing. Is my profile good enough to get into my dream schools(provided below). I’m looking for part-time MBA, since I’m a working professional.
Most scholarships are for Full time MBA programs - so if it is scholarships you seek you may have to think about this...Your profile as I see it now will make the top 10 programs challenging... as the 710 is not going to stand out. With my profile, are there any chances of getting scholarships?
See note above about the scholarships... I don't see part-time as likely. For full time you may find something in a school ranked 25-35 range. The details that you may need to know:
