For statement one people are subtracting the two equations. What prompts you to find the difference between them?

For statement one people are subtracting the two equations. What prompts you to find the difference between them?
­The logic here is that you want to take out of the first equation what you already know to be a multiple of 7 to see whether the remaining number is also divisible by 7.
So you write it as 2A+3B+C+98A+7B which becomes 7k + 98A + 7B. If you divide this number by 7 you get k+14A+B which is an integer, therefore the remainder is 0
