Hi, I've just started to prepare for GMAT through online resources, and want to settle on a study plan.
I'm a working professional, so want to pace my prep a little slower for optimal results. As I understand, taking GMAT anytime after mid-August 2020 will be a bit late for targeting Fall 2021 semester.
I have about 2 years of work experience as of now (1 yr as Data Scientist + 1 yr as Business Analyst [in a unicorn startup]), so should I be applying to schools with ~2 years of work-ex in sep 2020? or wait (and give myself more time for gmat prep too) and apply with work-ex of 3 years in fall 2021?

Hi there,
For a detailed timeline for your MBA application process, including suggestions for when to take the GMAT, TOEFL, visit campus and start working on your applications, please visit:

Hope this helps, good luck!

Hi cheeky,

With only 2 years of work experience, I would recommend holding back on the GMAT, especially with the uncertain nature of recruiting cycles for 2020-2021. Give yourself time to study and achieve the score you are looking for.

Now, if you were to take it August of this summer and do well, you'd have plenty of time to apply for R1 for the 2021 intake, its simply a matter of how much in a rush you are to get to school.

Regards,
Scott
