I have been looking around at full-time and executive MBA programs and I feel that neither really fit my current situation. I am in my early 30's and have been working full-time and going to school full-time for my bachelors for the last 3 years; prior to that I was an automotive technician for about 10 years and served in the Marine Corps. My current employer (government) is a set pay schedule and a dead-end career, so I want to get an MBA to change careers. I will have to sell my house and move across the country for the schools that I want to go to, so I will have to secure a job in that area after acceptance and before classes start.
Since I will have to work to support my financial obligations and pay for a place to live I don't feel a full-time is best. However, since I will just be starting a new job, most likely non-supervisory, where I am not likely to get corporate sponsorship and my MBA will go underutilized, I don't feel like an executive MBA is a good fit either.
Thoughts?

I guess you should try for 1 year programs or even an exe MBA should be good enough as it will provide the much required financial flexibility.
Your Marine corps background should be especially to look at few programs which value this background and will be able to support you better in terms of electives or career choices.

without knowing too much details about your background it will be difficult to comment. But you want to change careers and full time MBA is always better for that since it gives you an opportunity to intern for the career of your choice. Executive MBA isn't really a good choice since your employer won't be paying for the MBA and you don't want to continue in the same company/industry/role you are in currently.
You can take an education loan (ofcourse if you don't get a scholarship) and rent out your house and get some money from there to support you while you are studying.
