Hi everyone, I am planning to apply for MBA ( specialization in consulting/finance ) in US [Round 1]. Working with one of the admission consultant from a top brand in India (charged 1L for 5 b-schools) , she suggest business schools like Kelley, Rochester. I am disappointed with her suggestions as I am interested in applying to MIT, Columbia Business School, Carnegie Mellon, Duke Fuqua, Cornell Johnson. They are suggesting that my chances to those business schools are extremely low as they take only world class profile. I am not sure whether they are pushing me to too much safe schools( Should I need to change the consultant ) or I am over ambitious. Attached my profile below. Eagerly waiting for your advices. Thanks in Advance.
Post MBA goal : Working as a consultant or investment banker in Goldmann Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Mckinsey & Co, Bain & Company, BCG. MBA Budget : 1.2Cr incl. accommodation. ( expecting scholarship on top of it )

Change your consultant bro, there is no harm in trying your target schools even if your profile is weak. With your GMAT score and profile, I believe you have a good shot at those schools.
Hey Akashvikram Try to connect alumni of the B-Schools you’re applying. You can talk with them as they’ve already experienced all these. Also, you have an amazing GMAT score, you can definitely apply!
But you shouldn't hesitate, in my opinion, to ditch your consultant and apply to some of the top-tier programs you have listed. Some consultants want students to not have a 'bad' experience through rejections, so they may push them towards schools where they are almost guaranteed to get in.
