Congos on the admit !! Shouldn't we personally consider the much more diverse class experience that INSEAD offers over Sloan?? Personally ,but just as the case with you, I would have made the same decision to pursue a longer 2 year program. Anyways have a great time at MIT !! :)

Having a family myself, I understand that stability is important, especially to my wife. Do you have a plan on where your kids are going to school, what your wife will be doing during the course of 2 years.
I would like to read your insights and and advise? Financially to me an MBA is a huge investment and I can't slip since there are eyes watching me and supporting me. PM me!

Good luck :)

Hi. Sorry for the slow response.

For now my wife is happy to be a stay-at-home mother (our children are too young for school and ...there may be more to come some day!) but I understand Boston is a great city for youngsters too, whereas being torn between Singapore and France in a 10-month period would have very disruptive for me.

It's all a personal choice of course. PM me if you'd like to discuss in more detail.

Congrats on your admit to Sloan & INSEAD. I'm surprised it was such a dilemma for you to choose though. Sloan is a far superior program to INSEAD, you made the right choice.

Ermmm I wouldn't say MIT is a far superior program than INSEAD. Both are good schools.

Also, you lose credibility speaking as an alum :-D

ok - I shouldn't have used the term 'far superior'....I admit. A two-year program offers more opportunities to start with. I think the Sloan brand carries more cache but others may disagree. In terms of the people you meet and mingle with at Sloan (the wider MIT community, the kids up the river at HBS and down the river at BU....you have more opportunities than you do at INSEAD where you're essentially restricted to other MBAs at INSEAD 1 hour outside Paris). That's my take on it :)
