The Yale website mentions the following about interviews:

Step 5 – Interview

An interview is required to be admitted to the Yale School of Management. Interviews are by invitation of the Admissions Committee. If you are invited to interview, you will be notified by email. You may be invited at any point in a round — after an initial review of your application or after one or two in-depth reads.

Since I have not got an invite as yet I assume my application belongs to the "Not worth interviewing after an initial read" pile.

Haha.. Atleast you have a lot of company in that file.. Including me.. I am tired of checking my inbox and this thread. Very surprising to see noone on this forum has got an invite in almost 15 days.

Fortunately, since I am in India, I need to check my mail/status only twice - before I hit the bed and as soon as I wake up.

Hi all,

Regarding the LoRs, is there a list of questions for the recommender? I checked the website of Yale but I did not see anything.

Thank you.

When applications went live I created a pseudo account and send recommendation requests to my email id (which of course does not have my real details).

Hey guys - I'm applying to Yale in the 2nd round and would really like to visit the campus on December, since I'll be in the US (I'm from Latin America). However, I couldn't find any available date to register for the visit. I'm inclined to go anyway and try to set some meetings with current students.

What do you think about that? I'd really appreciate your help!

I would e-mail the admissions department and find out if they have any option. Odds are classes are out for break, but this way you get on the AD's radar that you made an "unofficial" trip. Not sure it will help your chances, but you may get insights into events or opportunities during your visit that may not otherwise be available.

Hope this helps.

Before visiting New Haven, check if you will find any student to talk to at all, even if unofficially! Almost every school closes by mid december post exams for winter break and start around 1st or 2nd week of January. Yes, it's a good idea to send an email to adcom and check the dates.

Thanks rgupta83 and bizschoolprep!

I sent an email to admissions and they told me that I should not make an informal visit in December. So, I will try to visit the campus in January.

I too received the email. Feel a bit reassured. Here's the extract:

Greetings from the Yale School of Management! It has been a little while since the Round 1 application deadline, so we wanted to touch base to let you know where things stand in the round and what to expect between now and the mid-December decision notification date.

We are still very much in the midst of reviewing applications. At this point, although we have sent out the majority of our interview invitations, there are still a number of interview spaces left for the round and we will continue to send out invitations as we review applications.

In terms of releasing decisions, our decision notification date is December 15 -- several weeks away. We realize that waiting to hear from us is a difficult thing, especially since there is nothing more for you to do in terms of your end of the process. Rest assured that we are busily reviewing applications on our end. We truly appreciate your patience as we continue to do so.

As always, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to let us know.

Best regards,

Yale School of Management
Admissions Office

Well even me received this mail yesterday.
And Dec 15 is not several weeks but just couple of weeks away!!
So I guess this mail should have come a lot earlier than yesterday.

Did you get an interview invite? I feel as though that would only go out to those individuals that did not get an interview invite, but I could be wrong.
