Hey everyone.

Does anybody know:

1) if there will be an admitted students thread? and
2) which financial institutions (aside from CS) that Yale is a 'core' school for?

TIA

I believe Barclays is also a major recruiter extending more offers than any other bank last year.

We should start an admitted thread.

Hi Yale SOM applicants! FYI if you're applying to Yale through the Consortium Graduate Study in Management (CGSM), hop over to the Consortium 2012 Forum and Update Your Profile to join the Consortium roll call.

It's simple. Just select your school as "Consortium, the", then indicate which specific institution(s) you'll be applying to, make sure your application cycle is 2011-2012 and the Consortium round (CGSM1 or CGSM2) you be applied in. You can do all of this easily through the handy 'Add to Your Schools' link on the front page of the Consortium 2012 Forum.

We have a special analytics specifically for those candidates applying via Consortium and lots of conversation specific to Consortium candidates and the school(s) they are applying to.

Come and join the conversation! Cheers!

Hi Everyone,
I have applied on round 2 (application sent on 12/31) and have just received an interview invitation.
I was glad to receive the invitation so quickly, anyone knows the percentage of applicants yale invites for interviews?
My problem is that I am an international applicant currently living in France, and they invited me for an on-campus interview. Anyone knows if Yale does off campus interviews (either alumni or adcom coming over) ? or at least skype interviews for internationals?

Congrats on your (indeed very speedy) invite! I had my interview with an alum off campus (Florida, US), though they may set up a Skype interview for international applicants. When I'd asked if I could interview off-campus, they asked me to hold tight while they reached out to alumni in my area, and that they would set up a Skype appointment if all else failed.

HOWEVER, I was a reapplicant and had previously interviewed on campus, and let them know this when I asked for the off-campus interview this year. Don't know if that will be a huge factor, but I'd suggest visiting at some point during the process if you can swing it. Good luck!

Congratulations on your interview!

PER Businessweek.com, Yale invites only 28% of its applicants.

Thanks for the info, I will try to visit all the schools I am applying to around March April, I can't take enough time off before that... I explained to the adcom that I can't go to New Haven, I will see if they offer me Alumni interview or Skype (I don't know which one I'd prefer actually...)

28%, and they admit around 17% so they take around 60% of the interviewees, cool :)
Congrats to the other applicants who have been invited too.

I had a bunch of fun on my alumni interview, and think I would have been much more nervous/self-scrutinizing over Skype (if only because you can see yourself). But whatever works best for you!

I would like as much time for interview prep as possible. Is there any drawback to scheduling my interview for, say, a month+ from now?

The Adcom just answered that they will try to organize an alumni interview in Paris, so it is all good.
Do you guys have any tips for preparing the interviews by the way?

Definitely comb through this thread to look at the interview questions others have gotten. My interviewer basically asked me all of the essay questions on the application, which was nice, but I did find that I needed to rehearse with someone. My advice would be to use Skype for rehearsals, so that you can see if you're being particularly awkward on certain questions. Also - keep in mind that however friendly the alumni interviewer is, they will noticeably sober up and become all business when it's time to interview. I've spoken to multiple people who interviewed in R1, and they were all timed to exactly 30 minutes by their interviewers.

If I get a raise in salary after I submitted my application, is there a need to update admissions on it?
