I pulled up the Metro-North website, which is not helpful at the moment because it is the Hurricane Sandy advisory. Also, could I depend on that train to be running late November or is it jacked up from the hurricane? How often do the trains run? Thanks!


There are also some shuttles that go straight from the airport to New Haven. It will be more expensive, but may be worth saving the hassle.

Ok! Done with my interview today (via Skype). Was interviewed by a second year graduate w/ background in non-profit management. It seems SOM clubs interviewers and interviewee with similar profiles and career interests. Unlike what I had imagined, my interview was very to-the-point, started and finished in 30mins.

My 2 cents for future candidates: Keep your answers to the point, else they interrupt you if you stretch it too long. I was interrupted towards the end of my team-building experience story.

As Jason previous pointed out, sell yourself and know your pitch cold. I am sure they will map the interview assessment with the application we earlier submitted. All the best to everyone. Now the wait begins for the final call.

Thanks for sharing, VN! The information about the background of your interviewer is also interesting - was anyone else 'matched' in a similar fashion?

Now that Vanishing Nerd mentioned it, I think I was also somewhat matched with my interviewer. He was an international student, although that's all the connection I could make. :P

Ok so the pattern seems clear then-interview invites going out Fridays. Havn't heard anything yet though...Is there a particular time, or could I expect a mail anytime before EOD?

They can email you at anytime I would guess, its their world, we're just living in it. When multiple people do get invites though, it has seemed they get them at the same exact time the past couple fridays. So it looks like unless there is another batch of multiples this afternoon, another long week ahead.

Actually with the hurricane going past my house, this week went much quicker with no power because I couldnt check every night.

They do go out at other times - I got mine on a Thursday night, the day before a batch went out, so it does happen.

@ skm - yeah I remember you being the outlier a couple of Thursdays ago.. Good luck with the interview at the end of the month..

@Melodania - Things are dandy for me, even without power. The north jersey and nyc people are a fairly helpful and resiliant bunch in times like these.

Just got an invite! Need to go buy a coat now...as it is currently ~80 degrees where I live.

ps is it better to fly to Boston or to NYC and then to New Haven?

You and I both. Hope to hear good news soon from Yale, but looks like I will have to wait at least another week to hear anything.
