Hi Alex and all GmatClubbers!
I would like to hear you opinion about my profile and ask few Business school questions.
My background is some what different than most of the people here, I'm neither Indian IT nor Asian.( no ofense).
I was born and raised in Ukraine,(moved when I was 15) educated here in NJ (Rutgers Undegraduate Business School, Finance major 3.6GPA, graduated 2008). Currently working as mutual fund accountant, big Wall Street bank. Planning to apply for 2013MBA, this October 2010, 1st round.
Throughout my undegraduate I had been working full time as an assistant manager at non-profit, earned employee of the year award ( maybe it'll help me to stand out).
Also, I have some international experience, mainly in the UK.I helped to negotiate a deal between UK manufacturing company and Ukrainian confectionary firm.
While in school, was a team leader in a stock research competition.
Other:
GMAT 720 (3rd attempt),
Age:28.
Fluent in 3 foreign languages.
Target schools:
Columbia ( early decision)
Cornell
NYU
Also, could you compare Cornell vs NYU vs Columbia?

I think you're in range for these three schools -- Columbia will be a stretch, but still enough of a chance that it's worth applying in the Early Decision. NYU and Cornell you should be in the mix -- not safeties (you'll have to go beyond the top 16 for safety schools -- such as Rochester, Georgetown, etc.).
As for comparison - not sure what you wanted me to compare. There's a lot of info on their respective websites in terms of recruiting. If you're looking in terms of class culture -- since you're in NJ/NY (I assume?), go visit these schools!! You have no excuse as you're a train ride away (okay, Cornell is further away, but still in-state). You'll be able to get a good feel for each of the schools after visiting their classes, talking to their students -- of course it's all subjective opinions (for example, some will love Columbia because they thought the people were great, others may hate it because they didn't like the people, etc.) but it's YOUR opinion that matters most.

As for the comparisons, I would like to stay in Asset Management after MBA and would like
to know if Cornell is strong enough vs NYU or Columbia in Finance. I've already visited all those schools and thinking about Cornell. I like the smaller size classes and more inperson approach.
However, I've heard that Cornell is strong in Consulting and recruiting is not that strong.
Please let me know what do you think?
