Verified GMAT Classic score:
750 Q49 V42 (Online)
Strengths:
1. Online question practice platform
2. The layout/design of course material - lecture videos intertwined with practice questions
3. Regular mentorship from GMAT Whiz mentors
Would make the product better:
There should be a better User Interface to review bookmarked questions. Currently they are all in one list. We should be able to club them together in sub groups.
I prepared with another institute before res-starting my prep with GMAT Whiz again.
My score on the first attempt was 690.
I started my preparation with GMAT Whiz in July/August 2022.
With three to four months of consistent preparation, I improved my score from 690 to 750.
The best things about GMAT Whiz that helped me improve were -
1. Quant section - They don’t focus on teaching a lot of shortcuts, unlike my previous course. The approach was logical and methodological. Their course modules include concept boosters and practice questions intertwined with videos; this aspect helps one learn and apply the concept simultaneously. Their online practice platform is perfect for improving speed by the level of questions and time constraints.
2. Verbal Section - Earlier, I had to learn lots of exceptions and arbitrary rules that felt very difficult to apply in sentence correction questions. I couldn’t build a specific thought procedure for critical reasoning questions. And both of these combined also led to lower accuracy rates in RC ques.
With Gmat whiz’s logical approach of breaking sentences at the right point to understand the meaning of SC questions and keeping grammar rules simple, I was able to build a sense of what is correct and what is not. Their CR methodology/frameworks are just remarkable. They put you on the right track and correct pre-thinking to get to the correct answer more accurately and quickly.
3. Another good thing was, they assign a mentor to each student. I used to have regular catchups with my mentor to discuss progress on the study plan, share any difficulties I was facing, and prepare strategies for the next steps (curated to my strengths and weaknesses).
