Non-traditional applicant attending a T15

Strengths:

I was able to maximize my time, focusing first on my resume, then career/path mapping, then specific essays. The personalization of each step was critical as I told the story of my nontraditional background

Would make the product better:

Nothing. Alex's availability and promptness, and the clarity of his feedback were all major positives.

I was referred to Alex by a third party with good knowledge of the consultant landscape. In addition, I did introduction calls with several others, both independent consultants and those part of a larger firm. While meeting with Alex, it was clear that he was the best choice. As a non-traditional applicant (legacy media), my profile needed significant refinement. Alex’s straightforward approach was a major help in that regard. It led me to effectively tell the story and impact of my professional path to date, plus connect it to attainable short and long-term goals. All of his feedback was extremely specific and personalized to my situation, profile and background. It led me to a final GMAT attempt in order to highlight my quantitative ability, plus numerous essay edits to make sense of a professional life that didn’t fit well in the format of the online application.

Out of the 10 schools I applied to (three M7s, five T15s and two T20s), I was accepted to five, two with significant scholarship money. I am now attending a T15 in the fall — one of my top choices throughout the process.

It would have been very easy for Alex, like other consultants, to sugarcoat his feedback, whether at the start of the process or in specific essay edits. His to-the-point approach focused on perfection in all aspects. It’s reasonable to credit that approach and his feedback as a significant reason I am headed to a top choice. I’d wholeheartedly recommend Alex as the choice for anybody looking to maximize their chances. That applies both to those coming from a traditional background, as well as to others like myself looking to make significant pivots.
