Product Vikram Shah Consulting Package
Consultant Vikram Shah
Strengths:
Vikram’s biggest strength is his honest and long-term approach to the admissions process. Instead of pushing me to apply immediately, he advised me to step back, improve my GRE score, and apply in a stronger position which made a significant difference to my outcomes.
He is also very strong at identifying and shaping personal narratives. Through multiple discussions, he helped me uncover aspects of my profile especially leadership experiences that I had initially overlooked, and guided me on how to present them effectively.
Additionally, the process felt highly personalized. Both Vikram and Mitra invested time in understanding my background in depth and provided thoughtful, structured guidance throughout the journey.
Would make the product better:
Given the depth of the process, it can feel quite intensive at times, especially when balancing it with work and test preparation. A slightly more structured timeline or clearer upfront expectations on milestones could help candidates plan better.
That said, the rigor is also what makes the process effective, so it ultimately works in the applicant’s favor.
I reached out to Vikram in late December when I was planning to apply in Round 2 for the 2025 MBA cycle, primarily targeting a few European schools that I believed were within my reach. At that time, my confidence was quite low because of my GRE score, and I assumed those were the only schools I had a realistic shot at. My initial intention was simply to get my essays reviewed before submitting applications.
However, Vikram suggested starting with a one-on-one profile evaluation. That conversation turned out to be a pivotal moment in my journey. He helped me see that my profile was stronger than I had perceived, and that my GRE score was the main factor holding me back. Instead of encouraging me to proceed with rushed applications, he advised me to pause, retake the GRE, and apply in Round 1 of the 2026 cycle with a stronger overall profile.
I followed his advice, focused on my preparation, and improved my GRE score to 330. When I reconnected with him, I opted for the full 5-school package. Vikram and Mitra then worked closely with me, starting from my life story and helping me build a clear, cohesive narrative.
Through this process, I gained a much deeper understanding of my own experiences. I initially believed I lacked leadership experience, but Vikram helped me identify and articulate meaningful examples that I had overlooked. He also encouraged me to expand my school list and consider US programs, which I hadn’t seriously thought about before.
I’m happy to share that I was admitted to University of Virginia Darden School of Business, which was a fantastic outcome for me.
Overall, what stood out was Vikram’s honest and long-term approach. Instead of pushing me toward immediate applications, he guided me toward making decisions that significantly improved my chances. I’m very grateful for his support throughout this journey.
