Strengths:

In depth analysis of the structure followed for verbal by a student. Sunita ma'am helped me identify gaps on how I was reading and joining sentences in CR and RC. Much needed if you are aiming for a high score.

Starting with a V77 and not improving even after 3 months can be bit daunting. That is when I searched for help from tutors and found GMATWhiz. The team helped me with sessions to discuss what my problems were and how they can address them. In each session I learnt that even with a strong foundation one can face issues when the execution isn't good. This is where I started filling gaps on my execution. Identifying where I was going wrong the execution was a game changer for me- a jump from v77 to a v83. I highly recommend folks to seek help from experts on GMATWhiz if you feel like you are not able to improve even after you have put in the effort.

Good luck!

Great verbal instructor, comprehensive course and quality concept building quizzes

Having started my GMAT Prep in May 2023 with a cold mock score of 660 (Q44, V37), I knew I needed to improve drastically if I wanted to be competitive for the programs I wanted to apply to in the fall. I realized the biggest issue with verbal was sentence correction, and quant too required work and looking at the provided reviews across platforms I decided to go ahead with TTP. The quant was helpful but something about the verbal section did not click with me and I knew that unless I actually discussed what I was doing with someone I had no chance at improvement. I found GMATWhiz at that point in time and contacted them. Upon doing so, I was introduced to Sunita ma’am who made me realize that my approach was firstly wrong and that I was unnecessarily rushing through questions without looking at the finer details. I went through their course along with weekly/bi-weekly sessions with ma’am and during this process I slowly started to get better at understanding the intended meaning of the sentence. CR had initially not been a struggle but I realized that harder questions on the GMAT were of a completely different level – and ma’am’s advice of focusing on the conclusion and not being distracted helped me get through a lot of them. Ma’am has been very helpful throughout the journey and even with my struggles and frustrations helped me keep calm and confident as the test date drew nearer. As I gear up for another attempt to improve my quant score (I, unfortunately, had noise issues at the test center that dragged it down), I hope to keep the learnings through the process with ma’am and the course.

Strengths:

Quant question bank is above GMAT level that helps you to thoroughly groom for D Day

Would make the product better:

Test Series contain almost similar questions as those in GMAT OG/ Official Mocks.

Before joining GMATWHIZ, I had V19 on verbal. I had prepped with test prep company that had no structured approach of solving problems. As a result, I struggled to understand concepts with previous prep company.
In May 2022, when I joined GMAT WHIZ verbal tutor course, I was shocked and astonished regarding the depth of framework I was lacking in Verbal. I recollect the first session with my mentor Sunita madam where she broke sentences into words, phrases to make me realize the clarity required to score V35+ on GMAT Verbal. Total 4 sessions of SC with her were more than sufficient to make me absorb all the concepts and it assured attempting all sentence corrections questions with right strategies and most importantly with LOGIC!!.
Further, I mastered her advice of connecting the sentences back and forth in critical reasoning. The Reading comprehensions passage that GMATWHIZ platform provides look very easy on read. The questions that follow are created in such a way that it almost took me two attempts to solve most RC Questions. By practicing such tough questions helped me to adopt the strategy of eliminating the wrong choices instead of selecting the right one.
Finally, a day before exam, I revisited all verbal sessions I had with Sunita Madam and noted all points where she used to stop me and think critically.
Quant – The only place you need to improve Quant to Q49+ is to practice ALL the questions from GMATWHIZ. It literally covers all question types. After practicing questions from whiz by creating customized quizzes, I improved a lot on my timing.
My 100 days of prep with GMAT WHIZ turned into 710 (Q49and V37) and I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen when score flashed.
I would recommend GMAT WHIZ to the ones who are looking for sincere preparations for GMAT.
PRO TIPS:
1. If in 1st attempt you are NOT getting verbal score of V30+, it is better to take private tutor for verbal instead of going for recorded sessions
2. Analyse ESRs of people who have scored 700+ on GMAT. They are available on GMATCLUB. This tremendously helps setting right strategies on how to attempt questions.

A very solid verbal course by GMATWhiz

Initially I was using free resources and various question banks in order to prepare by myself for the GMAT. Since I am a working professional, I never felt tutoring the right way to go in order to keep a flexible schedule. When I hit a hard plateau at 690 with a V35 (inspite of solving most OG, Verbal, and Manhattan problems), I started searching for alternative approaches when I came across GMATWhiz course through Piyush's webinar on verbal.

With hardly 10 days to the next GMAT exam, I must say that GMATWhiz Verbal Course completely changed my approach to solving problems. Their video lessons for verbal are tooo good! They have really drilled into concepts and put the effort to identify the subtle pain points that students would face while solving. I was surprised when some of my issues (which I used to dismissing as reading error or inconsequential ones) were literally explained to the point in the video.

Right from their first verbal video, I understood that buying the verbal course along with Sunita ma'am's 1-1 sessions was an incredible decision. I finally scored a 710 (Q49, V38) which is huge, considering the plateau I was stuck at and the constricted timeframe available before the GMAT.

Hi Everyone,
I started my GMAT prep journey in Oct, 2021. First 2 months, I did some self-prep from the official guides. After solving the guides, I felt that I was at a stage where although I was able to get some easy or medium questions correct, I was not confident on most of the harder difficulty questions of verbal and hence was getting those questions wrong.

At that point, I decided to go through one of the renowned GMAT-Prep courses. After going through that course, I was a bit more confident on my grammar for SCs, but still I felt that I was not able to solve confidently verbal questions of higher difficulties. Most often than not, I was stuck in between two option choices. Hence, my mock scores were also fluctuating. To work upon and resolve this, I decided to go for another renowned GMAT-Prep course, thinking that this new course might help me to bring my Verbal prep on track. After completing the second course, I was confident enough to book a date for the exam. Scored a 660 (V28, Q50). I somehow knew while attempting the exam that my verbal section has not gone as per my expectation. Appearing the exam, I felt that I am not following a process and going wrong in some way. After some research, I decided that this time around I need someone who will point out my mistake during my prep and who can guide me as to where I was faltering in the verbal section.

Finally, I booked a consultation call with Piyush and decided to go with GMAT Whiz. Already I had attended a seminar of GMAT Whiz by that time. In Sept, 2022, I signed up for the GMAT Whiz Verbal Tutor prep course and started working with Sunita Ma’am. In the very first class I attended, I knew that I had made the right choice as I was able to get where I was faltering. The process that I was not following before was the root cause. Over the next 1 month, we worked hard to unlearn and relearn the question solving process. In every session, she kept pushing me to follow the structure and process to solve the different types of questions. After completing the course, I attempted a couple of mocks and appeared for my 2nd official GMAT attempt. This time, I scored 700 (V35, Q49) – a 40-points improvement in 50 days.

I cannot emphasize the contribution and role played by Sunita Ma’am in these 40 points improvements and from a V28 to V35. Thank you, Ma’am, for bearing with my silly questions. It was a short but memorable journey of learning with you 😊

My experience with GMAT is that the structure (to solve questions) is very important in GMAT. If you don’t have a structure or a process to follow for attempting various types of questions, the official exam will make a mockery out of you (which I myself felt in my first attempt and that too after almost 11 months of preparation). Preparing by solving lots of questions won’t help you much, if you haven’t already learned the standard structure and process to attempt questions. First, learn the process and the skills, then go for solving questions, applying the process and your skills in each and every question. Then only in the actual exam, under the exam stress and time pressure, you will be able to follow the process and arrive at the correct answers.

After studying 2-3 months of random prep, I decided to go for a prep plan. Whiz was best in terms of cost, I got 10 sessions for 550$. My verbal score was stuck between V18 to V21 in official mocks. So I needed some expert, who can guide me. I talked to a representative about the plan and he assured me that he and his team will provide full support to me.

Lets discuss pros- I liked their meaning based approach, It gave me a new insight to tackle question. My tutor was Sunita Mam. She was always supportive throughout the journey. She told me to do untimed practice and before every class there is a certain task to complete. So its good, you approach every question deeply. My SC skills improved a lot. CR was ok. For, RC, my approach changed. I liked the new approach. Overall, I liked it. But,

Cons- Their management is weak. I felt that I wasn’t getting ample attention. The representative, completely changed after I bought the plan. Even after complaining about this, Instead of improving, he blamed on me for everything. I might be wrong, but I bought their best plan, I was expecting a premium service.

Many of their explanations in their platform are not standard or matches with official explanations. Some of their questions had mistakes, They even accept and correct them, if you can point them. All this leads to doubt the material. You don’t even know whether their tutors have taken the GMAT themselves or not, which is extremely important to me. Their explanations are not up to the mark. I am not doubting about the lead tutor. She is very experienced.

Lastly, when I started getting good accuracy, I couldn’t improve my timing, because I was told to do everything untimed. I build this habit of untimed practice, as a result I couldn’t switch back to timed practice. And for this, you have to improve yourself. I didn’t get right strategy to tackle this. After 6 months of intense prep my Verbal score improved by 10 points. Good but not enough for me at this moment. Need extra 5 points.

Lastly, you have to put your own effort a lot, don’t expect them to reach out to you. You have to reach out to them, even if you buy their best plan. If say you haven’t talked or aren’t active for 2 months, nobody cares. Don’t even expect to get an email saying where are you? How's the prep going? Even if the plan expires. Its the end. So you have to put efforts, be blunt and Keep asking questions. Good luck!

It was after 4 failed attempts and 2 years of non stop preparation that i reached out to GMATWhiz. At that time i was stuck in a mid 600 score plateau and irrespective of how much effort i've put, I couldn't improve my score at all.
GMATWhiz actually helped me reach the 700+ score. I really liked the way their course is structured. The inbuilt AI engine helps in planning the study schedule and all we have to do is, just follow it. Another important feature of GMATWhiz is the score predictor (it is pretty much accurate) which actually starts predicting our score soon after we complete a couple of modules. Because of this feature, we know how much more effort we need to put to improve.
The support i've got from GMATWhiz is immense. I had tried a couple of test prep companies and non had provided me the kind of support that GMATWhiz has. Sunita Ma'am (Verbal tutor) not just made me understand the concepts thoroughly but also gave me the moral support during times when i used to feel low.
To be honest, the GMATWhiz team is as motivated as you to help you reach your dream score. Sharing from my personal experience, the GMATWhiz team has gone beyond their course offering to help me reach my dream score.
Finally i would highly recommend GMATWhiz for all those who are preparing for the GMAT.

Hey Everyone.
I started my GMAT preparation in April 2021 with the help of external resources and GMAT Club Forum. I tried to solve as many questions as possible because I believed that exposure to a varied range of questions would benefit me to ace the exam. Feeling confident, I went for the exam in Nov 2021 and scored a 690(Q50, V32). It was a dismal performance from my perspective because I had devoted most of my time to prepare for Verbal.
So, I decided to go for the GMATWhiz Verbal Tutor Prep. My first session with Ms. Sunita Singhvi was basically an eye opener for me as we discussed meticulously the loopholes in my understanding and my areas of weakness. From then onwards, we chose to go for a step by step methodical approach that would involve basic things such as - Basic Sentence structure, accrued reading and deep level of understanding of the context.
The most important thing that i realised during my sessions was that : "Meaning is the key to acing the Verbal". If one gets to the deepest level of understanding of any given concept, half of the question is solved there itself. It was a major boosting point in my preparation. With regular interactive sessions and feedback, it was an absolutely smooth and enriching experience of gaining knowledge on the Verbal. I am indebted to Sunita Ma'am for always responding promptly to my countless trivial questions and pings without even the slightest of fuss. Truly humbled.
Finally I gave my next attempt in May 2022 and scored a 710(Q50,V37).

I can say that a Verbal score improvement of 5 points may not seem much of an improvement to a normal guy, but only a true GMAT aspirant will be able to acknowledge the effort and the thoroughness  required to increase the score even by 1 point.

A shout out to GMATWhiz and Ms. Sunita Singhvi for all the support and feedback.
Heartfelt Thanks and Gratitude.

I subscribed to the GMATWhiz verbal tutor prep + access to the quant section (which was the promo then).

I started my GMAT journey back in mid 2020. I knew I was weak in verbal and so I decided to buy a course from another leading provider. Despite hours of studying and prep, I found myself scoring a 640 on my first attempt. This was far from my goal and my true potential. I decided that I needed a tutor to help me in my verbal prep.

[VERBAL SECTION] Upon using GMATWhiz, I found that it provided a good structure in acing the verbal section. The method on intended meaning and breaking down a sentence really helped me in my SC section. Having a tutor also helped in building my confidence in the verbal section. I also learnt how to make use of the free tools available on GMATClub for my prep.

[QUANT SECTION] I started my quant section rather late and took only 2 weeks to prepare for it. On hindsight, 2 weeks is too short a time for prep and I do not recommend it for anyone. Going through the quant content in GMATWhiz, I found that there were many advanced concepts, tips, and tricks, which I was not aware of. Compared to the content in the other provider which I had subscribed to, the content in GMATWhiz is much more detailed.

Overall, I highly recommend GMATWhiz to anyone interested in acing the GMAT. I scored a 710 (V38Q49) on my second attempt.

Hi Everyone,
I want to post my experience of the long and tedious GMAT journey, the mistakes I made and what worked for me that might work for you as well. I will keep it very short and focus on the key points in the journey.
This one is for the ones who have to go through re-attempts to get to their target score. Here goes.
First attempt:
I started preparing for the GMAT in December 2020. And took the GMAT online in July-2021. The result: 640 (V29, Q48). I did some self-prep from Manhattan Guides, Veritas prep videos, and other sources.

Second Attempt:
I signed up with a well-known prep company and attempted the in-person GMAT on Dec-21. The result: 640 (V32, Q47). Clearly, Verbal was the issue.

Third Attempt:
I did some online research and finally decided to go with GMAT Whiz after talking to Piyush. During the call, Piyush and I went through my ESR from the previous attempt and he walked me through the common challenges faced by candidates with a score such as mine. I signed up for the GMAT Whiz Verbal Tutor prep course and started working with Sunita for my Verbal prep in Jan-22. Over the course of the next 3 months, we worked hard to re-wire my GMAT brain and bring me on the right track. The tool and techniques taught during the course coupled with the standardized approach and an adaptive platform were the game-changer. I finally took my 3rd attempt in Apr-22 and scored 710 (V40, Q46). Disclosure: I barely studied for Quant because of my hectic schedule, but I was pretty happy with the Verbal score. (I scored V40 and V41 on official GMAT mock tests).

So what worked for me on the 3rd attempt?
1. The standardized approach to learning, which is a key focus of the GMAT Whiz course. It not only teaches you the right approach but also hard wires you to follow the approach during the time pressure situation of the test.
2. The mentorship. I cannot emphasize enough the contribution of an expert, who does so much to set you in the right direction. I found Sunita’s approach to be very effective and efficient.
In conclusion,
To anyone reading this review and hoping to achieve a great GMAT score, I would recommend going with GMAT Whiz. Self-prep can only take you so far if you are not familiar with the material tested on the GMAT. Working with an expert will be much more efficient and I do not think that any other course offers such great value when it comes to 1-on-1 tutoring.
