Connie Chen Reviews

Company: Admissionado

Connie is a finance and investment advisor with experience in financial services, venture capital and high-tech corporations… and a weakness for McDonald’s french fries.

Born and raised in Taiwan, Connie moved to the US to study at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, where she learned to survive the Michigan winters. After earning her bachelor’s degree in business, she started her career in investment banking, advising companies on financings and M&A transactions. She then transitioned into venture capital, advising investors and entrepreneurs.

After getting her MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, she turned her focus back to M&A, now advising senior executives of high-tech companies. When she’s not making deals and consulting MBA candidates, she enjoys hiking, running and traveling… especially to Santorini, Greece, where the views and wine are amazing!

I am a Chinese applicant who needed to stand out from a fiercely competitive pool. My consultant, Connie Chen, guided me through the whole application process and helped me receive admission to my top choice of school. During our collaboration, I found that she was very accessible, conscientious and an expert. Whenever I raised a question to her, she would respond to me with thoughtful advice in a timely manner.

She provided me strategic guidance on how to put my personal stories and essay questions together. More importantly, she knew how to motivate me to discover personal highlights, as well as my uniqueness. Although some of these are normally overlooked by ourselves, it turns out they did help me stand out among those applicants with similar applicants. Connie is awesome!

Additionally, she is really good at motivating me to go through everything to find what I truly want to do. This enlightenment closely connected the dots of my personal files together, resulting in a well-prepared application. Moreover, she held a mock interview with me and provided detailed insight. I can confidently say that without her help, I may not have gotten into my top choice of school.

Overall, Connie is not only an excellent person, but also a professional consultant. Our collaboration went well and smoothly. Thus, I highly recommend Connie to other applicants!
