Job Well Done

I used Scott Edinburgh to help me navigate the admissions process . I was initially hoping to save and only work with him on an hourly basis, but ultimately went with a comprehensive package and could not be happier. From our initial discussion, Scott listened to my story (quite non-traditional) and guided me to focus on the unique aspects of my profile. From that point forward, he fine-tuned my essays, even recommending that I entirely redo one of them. I found him to be quite blunt and honest throughout the process, motivating me to work harder and to make every word count- be it be for my resume, essays, or bullet points for recommenders. After sending Scott a document for review, I usually received his feedback within 24-48 hours (sometimes even faster). Thankfully, I was accepted to my school of choice (and invited for an interview at my second option). I would highly recommend Scott to anyone looking for personalized MBA admissions assistance.

Highly Recommended - Personal MBA Coach

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

I would highly recommend Scott at Personal MBA Coach. Apart from his vast knowledge of MBA programs he has a wealth of knowledge about various industries which really helps to craft compelling stories. I had a non-traditional background and Scott spent a lot of time helping me to develop a story that both made logical sense and aligned with my target career path.

Scott really pushes you to make your essays the best that they can be; he’s tough in his critiques but at the same time encouraging. Sometimes I would get his essay reviews back and think to myself “I can’t do that” but he would keep pushing until I got there – even if it was 5 or 6 revisions.

Scott was always accessible; Personal MBA Coach promises a reply within 48 hours, but I never waited more than 24 hours for a response to any question or essay analysis. One morning I emailed Scott that I hit a roadblock in my essays and he immediately setup a phone call for a few hours later.

Unlike other consulting firms where you could be assigned to a junior consultant, working with Scott you know exactly what you are getting – the best!

Scott gets to know you well early on in the process and it’s clear that he shares in your success. I was accepted to my first choice school and he was (almost) as thrilled as I was!

I worked with Scott Edinburgh at Personal MBA Coach and I could not have been happier! Scott offers an incredible personal experience that is very hard to find. The fact that you are working with an individual and not a company cannot be emphasized enough. Don't be fooled by the big company name / support services that some larger firms have. At the end of the day you work with one person most of the time so why not work directly with an expert for the same price rather than an employee of a larger firm?

I hired a very well known name and was not satisfied as the support did not feel personalized enough since I was just a number in the process and it died off as it got closer to the deadlines. I then worked with Scott and was floored by the level of support I got. While we only had a short amount of time since I contacted him late, he took the time to get to know me personally and professionally and he was the one coming up with essay topics after just a couple discussions. Scott is quite tough and it works out in the end. In a very short amount of time, we did an entire HBS application and I ultimately got in. (As well as a couple other programs too!)

With Personal MBA Coach, you get a great balance of no BS, direct and brutal feedback while at the same time you have encouraging support throughout the entire process. Whereas with the other more well-known name I felt like I was a number in the process, Scott brainstormed everything with me from start to finish. Scott is a hidden gem in the admissions consulting space and I have sent many friends to him over the years who also had great success!

Personalized Approach to MBA Application Process!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

When doing my initial search for an admissions consultant, I was first drawn to the big-name consulting companies. Yet, after doing more research I realized that I did not merely want to be another faceless customer at one of these big firms. I knew that I needed the personalized support that Scott @ Personal MBA Coach provides in order to get through the application process in one piece. The whole application process, from b-school research to essay writing, is intensive, time-consuming, and stressful. I highly recommend Scott as the person ripe for the job to get you through it—with success. Truth be told, Scott gets into the minutiae of the entire application, including the 50 character explanations for my ECs in your undergraduate studies. From countless essay edits to much-needed mock interviews, Scott was there for me at every step.

Scott’s one-on-one support is exactly what I needed to conquer this arduous process and engineer an admission to my dream school of Columbia.

Fantastic Experience with Personal MBA Coach

If you are even considering working with an MBA consultant, be sure to talk to Scott at Personal MBA Coach first. From essay writing to recommendation letter support to general application questions, Scott is always available and has great insights. The best part about working with Scott is how well he gets to know you early in the process. This helps not only when cultivating your story but also when writing essays.

Prior to working with Scott, I wondered how a single person would be able to do so much but he exceeded my expectations by miles. He challenges you to think carefully and methodically about your application and his ability to provide feedback on a holistic application is impressive. He is always available via phone and E-Mail.

Thanks to Scott's services and support at Personal MBA Coach, I was accepted to my dream program at Harvard Business School.

Great Results

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

After meeting with and chatting with over 7 MBA admissions consultants, ranging from the biggest brand names to the smallest independents, I decided to go with Scott, Personal MBA Coach, as my advisor for 8 schools. Not because he was the most optimistic or the most pessimistic, but because he seemed honest and like an easy guy to work with, with an equal to or better track record of success versus his competitors.
We agreed on some “safe” schools, some “matches,” and some “reaches,” and decided that a strategy of applying to 8 match-to-reaches with no safety schools would be an optimal strategy for my goals and risk tolerance. I applied to all of the M7+Tuck, and to my surprise received offers of admission to 3 of the 8 schools, with interviews and eventual waitlist at 2 more, which I chose not to pursue.
As a realist, I understand that a lot of your profile is set in stone. GMAT, GPA, Work Experience… but there is still a huge amount of room to market yourself in a certain way that Personal MBA Coach was key in. Knowing what pieces of my career and background to emphasize were part of this.
One additional reason I chose Personal MBA Coach over some of the larger companies was that he ensured me that whether it was interview prep, essay brainstorming, or essay revisions, he would be the only person I spoke and dealt with whether by phone or email. This ended up being absolutely 100% true. There are of course other good consultants out there, but Scott is extremely connected to the process and is able to identify trends that others cannot.
