Overall strong job. Scott’s tutoring played a major role in my MBA and GMAT journey. His guidance went far beyond simply teaching concepts. He helped me build confidence, improve my test-taking strategy, and stay disciplined throughout the process. What stood out most was his ability to explain difficult quantitative and verbal topics in a way that actually made sense under pressure. He was patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in my success. Thanks to his support, I was able to significantly strengthen my application profile and ultimately earn admission to a top MBA program. I truly appreciate the time, effort, and mentorship he provided throughout the process.

Scott got me into Wharton — couldn't recommend them more highly

I worked with Scott Edinburg at Personal MBA Coach throughout my application cycle, and I'm thrilled to say I'll be heading to Wharton this fall. I wanted to share my experience because Scott genuinely made the difference between a good application and one that stood out.
From our very first conversation, Scott took the time to understand my background, my career goals, and what made me tick. He didn't try to fit me into a generic template — instead, he helped me identify the specific stories and angles that would resonate with adcoms. His feedback on my essays was incredibly sharp: he pushed me to dig deeper when my drafts were surface-level, and he had a great instinct for when something was working versus when I needed to rethink the framing.
A few things that stood out about working with Scott:

School selection strategy. He gave me honest, data-driven advice about where I was competitive and where I should stretch. No false hope, no underselling — just a clear-eyed read on my profile.
Essay coaching. He challenged me to be more specific and more authentic. By the final drafts, the essays actually sounded like me — but the best, most polished version of me.
Interview prep. Our mock interviews were rigorous. He drilled me on the questions I least wanted to answer, which made the real Wharton interview feel manageable.
Responsiveness. Scott was always reachable, even when I was sending him essay drafts at odd hours. He treated my application like it actually mattered to him.

If you're on the fence about working with a consultant, or trying to decide between firms, I can say without reservation that Scott and Personal MBA Coach were worth every penny. Wharton was my dream school, and I'm not sure I would have gotten in without his guidance.
Highly, highly recommend.

Strategic, direct, and highly actionable guidance

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

Strengths:

The main strengths are the strategic, highly actionable guidance, the program-specific admissions insight, and the structured process. Scott helped me clarify my story, cut unnecessary fluff, and make each essay more focused, evidence-based, and authentic. The editing support was also strong because it improved clarity while still protecting my own voice.

Scott Edinburgh and the Personal MBA Coach team were the best decision I made during my application process. Scott’s guidance was strategic, direct, and focused on what actually moves an admissions decision. He brought program-specific insight that’s hard to find on your own, including how admissions readers interpret certain choices and what to emphasize or cut so each essay aligns with what that school values. He helped me clarify my story, remove fluff, and back every claim with evidence, so every draft became tighter, clearer, and more “me.”

What I valued most was how actionable the feedback was. Scott didn’t just say “make this stronger,” he showed exactly what to change and why, and he kept me on track with a structured plan and deadlines. The PhD-level editor on his team made the writing process smooth by sharpening structure and clarity while protecting my voice. If you want an honest advisor with sharp instincts and a process that works, I recommend Scott without hesitation.

Worth Every Penny

Strengths:

The biggest strength of Personal MBA Coach is the quality of the people reviewing your application materials. Scott only works with former M7 admissions officers, so every piece of feedback comes from individuals who have evaluated applicants at the highest level.

Scott also does an exceptional job tailoring your story to each school's culture and priorities, rather than using a generic approach. His strategic insight, responsiveness, and understanding of the admissions landscape were invaluable throughout the process, and I genuinely believe he played a major role in helping me earn admission to MIT Sloan.

Would make the product better:

Honestly, very little. The process was extremely professional and well run throughout. Scott and the team was available throughout for one-off questions, and adjusted to my timelines.

What stood out most was the quality of the guidance and the highly personalized approach throughout every stage of the process. Scott only works with former M7 admissions officers, so all feedback and essay reviews came from people with direct experience evaluating top applicants. Scott also had an exceptional understanding of each school’s culture and priorities, which helped tailor my story authentically for different programs. Working with Scott was a great experience. At the start of the admissions process, I felt overwhelmed by the number of applications, deadlines, and essays I needed to manage. Scott helped me create a clear plan of action that broke the process into manageable steps, which immediately reduced a lot of stress.

He was organized, supportive, and always provided practical advice and thoughtful feedback. I especially appreciated how he kept me focused and accountable while pushing me to make the applications feel authentic to my own story and goals.

I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for structured guidance and support during the application process.

I worked with Scott Edinburgh at Personal MBA Coach and I could not have been happier! Scott offers an incredible personal experience that is very hard to find yet Personal MBA Coach has resources that even the larger firms don't have. To have PhDs edit your essays is remarkable and to have the same editor and consultant throughout provides structure. This on top of the insider information they have puts Personal MBA Coach in a league of their own. Firms usually have consultants working in silos and this doesn't happen here.

Initially I hired a very well known name and was not satisfied as the support did not feel personalized enough since I was just a number in the process and it died off as it got closer to the deadlines. I then worked with Scott and was floored by the level of support I got. While we only had a short amount of time since I contacted him late, he took the time to get to know me personally and professionally and he was the one coming up with essay topics after just a couple discussions. Scott is quite tough and it works out in the end. In a very short amount of time, we did an entire HBS application and I ultimately got in. (As well as a couple other programs too!)

With Personal MBA Coach, you get a great balance of no BS, direct and brutal feedback while at the same time you have encouraging support throughout the entire process. Whereas with the other more well-known name I felt like I was a number in the process, Scott brainstormed everything with me from start to finish. Personal MBA Coach is no longer a hidden gem in the admissions consulting space but certainly one you should pay attention to and I have sent many friends to him over the years who also had great success!

A worthwhile investment

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

Strengths:

Scott's directness and guidance throughout the entire process was great. Note that his role is to give advice; he has a team of other people who helps with the essays, resume, and etc.

Would make the product better:

There could have been more communication between the editor (who was very diligent and thorough) and Scott regarding the direction of my essays. For example, the editor didn't know that I wanted to stay with my company (which Scott and I had discussed) and kept pushing me to articulate a different post-MBA goal.

Because I had been out of school for a while, and because of my demanding schedule, I invested in an admissions consulting company. I met Scott at an event and chose to work with him because 1. he was direct and 2. he told me I should aim higher. I am glad I listened to his advice. His team kept me on track throughout the entire process. Now I am at my reach school with a fellowship.

I know it's not cheap to work with an admissions consultant. I shopped around and liked that Scott is no-nonsense and has a lot of experience in his field. Had I not worked with an admissions consultant, I would have still put together an application, but I wouldn't have felt as confident about every part.

Accepted To M7 In Round 3 - Highly Recommend Scott & PMC

Scott and his exceptional team played a pivotal role in my successful navigation of the full-time MBA application process, helping me land an M7 admit in Round 3. I began working with Scott through his MBA packages in late 2024. However, after underestimating the juggling act of exams, essays, and work, I found myself applying to multiple schools in R3. Scott was incredibly helpful and kept my morale high. Overall, I especially appreciated the team’s ability to help me shape my experiences into a cohesive story, provide actionable essay edits, and offer personalized advice tailored to each school. I highly recommend Scott and his team to anyone beginning their MBA application journey.

I had a great experience working with Personal MBA Coach, especially with Scott. He was thoughtful, direct, and extremely helpful throughout the MBA application process. What stood out most was his ability to quickly understand my background, identify the strongest parts of my story, and help me present them in a clear and compelling way.

Scott provided honest feedback, pushed me to improve my essays and overall positioning, and made the process feel much more manageable. With his guidance, I was admitted to 3 of the programs I applied to and received scholarship offers as well. I would highly recommend Scott and Personal MBA Coach to anyone looking for structured, strategic, and high-quality MBA admissions support.
