Before my GMAT test date, I called the test center to confirm what documents I needed to bring and what items were allowed inside the test room. I was told that I could use either my citizen ID or my passport as identification, and that I would be allowed to bring my own earplugs.

However, on the actual test day, I was informed that only a passport was accepted. Because of this, I had to urgently take a GrabBike back home to pick up my passport, which created a lot of unnecessary stress right before the exam. I was also told that I could not use my own earplugs and could only use the earplugs provided by the test center.

The main issue was not the policy itself, but the inconsistency between the information I received before the test and what was enforced on test day. For an important exam like the GMAT, clear and accurate communication is extremely important. I hope the test center can improve its communication process so future test takers can prepare properly and avoid last-minute stress.
