The CATs provided by Veritas are intensely helpful. They provide a total of 7 tests out of which 1 is free and other tests you have to buy. Time to time they will give discounts also over the purchases but believe me even if you do not get discount, go for the tests. I would not disagree if someone says that quant is on a little harder side if compared to real test but that will help for sure. The collection of questions is very good. Verbal is amazing. Yes no one can copy the reals algorithm as used in real tests but one can try to bring their algos as near as possible and this is what veritas has done.
I am not very comfortable with the marking scheme they follow where they provide marks out of 60 instead of 51 but rest of the detailed description about your test and the report generated will help you a lot for sure.
The best replica of real gmat after gmat prep. Best part is quant which is a little bit more difficult but trains you for the worst. If you are planning to by any test series then go for the manhattan one. These guys also allow you to reset the exams so that you can give it again. I shared it with my friend as we were giving n different time periods. First i used it then my friend. Verbal is more or less same as present in the official guide or in test. I gave gmat twice and got q50 and q47 respectively. And i got it by preparing only with manhattan nothing else. The solutions provided by them are very very informative and one can have take aways with every questions.
I got access to these tests by redeeming my reward points and these tests are a real beauty.
On the quant side, there are ample amount of tests available covering all the question types and the solutions are discussed properly. The best part is that in discussion, if you find anything difficult or if you face doubt, you can check discussion and if your doubt is not discussed then you can go ahead and post your doubt, you will get answer for it in a couple of days by some expert for sure. And believe me, these tests are sufficient for quant preparation.
Verbal is good if we talk about the collection of questions but if you see it as a test then it is not very well structured. You will get all variety of questions but the distribution of them in real exam will not be like the one present in these tests. You might see here RCs with 5 questions which is not at all possible in GMAT. Other than that verbal is also a promising part of these cats.
I have heard many stories about how horrible a test center can be and many of my friends faced various issues at their test centers. After hearing those reviews, i was more than afraid about the environment inside and outside the test center. I was praying that there shall not be any construction site or market near the center and inside the center no problems shall be there. Believe me the experience was awesome. The faculty is very friendly. The center is a very comfortable place with no or minimal disturbances. As students appearing for different exams type through so keyboard sounds might bug you a little but that is also well managed by separating every student by sound proof barriers and you will also get one noise cancellation headsets. Personally i dont like those headsets as they generally are very tight for obvious reasons and also I would suggest Pearson Vue to use ear plugs instead.
All in all that place is a very comfortable place with no issues at all.
Kaplan Premier is an awesome book to start preparation with. This book have enough questions as well as the strategies to attack the question. This book helped me a lot in the verbal part and the best thing is that this comes with 5 free tests. The tests provide very good replica of you preparation. Many people argue that hose tests are not close to the real GMAT but at the end the real mark is +-20 of what you scored in the Kaplan tests so i believe we can rely on the same. Also the tests are very user friendly and the explanation of questions are very helpful.
