This definitely helped me improve my general sense for the GMAT exam not having taken a standardized exam in a while. The ability to work on my own time was definitely what sealed the deal on top of the quality of content in this course. The price for what is given to you can not be matched by many other companies that offer their courses for a higher price. I would consider having the in-person courses, but I feel that many people have many different schedules and this is an answer for everyone's schedules. It might not be perfect for people who tend to have many questions, but it definitely is perfect for me.
I originally signed up for e-GMAT primarily for the SC course based on its reputation for having great SC concepts, but I ended up finding out that the other two courses were equally as helpful. The pre-quizzes before each concept gave me a good indication of how prepared I was for each concept, but I discovered that the concept files provided very good explanations of the fundamental rules of grammar and sentence construction. The quizzes at the end of each concept file allowed me to test and solidify my understanding of the lessons I had just completed.
I found the Manhattan Prep SC to provide me a solid foundation, but the e-GMAT course solidified the concepts and provided with different tricks and shortcuts that other courses did not fully implement.
Although the SC course was my main reason for signing up, I ended up trying out the CR portion as well since I had also used the PowerScore CR Bible, but I kept struggling in applying certain concepts properly.
I scored relatively lower on most CR quizzes for quite some time, but the pre-thinking concept as well as the concept on identifying the conclusions allowed me to focus on the important portions were most assumptions come from. Once you patiently apply pre-thinking steps avoid rushing through each questions, you can answer solutions accurately and quickly, allowing you to spend more time on RC passages, which can take up most of your time.
I originally was scoring in the low 30s despite having studied Manhattan SC and PowerScore CR, but the concepts and strategies from e-GMAT helped me identify wrong questions quickly to find the correct answer and my scored have increased up to low 40s.
I strongly advise going through the concept files multiple times even if you score highly since certain concepts are tougher to master and you may forget how to apply them since they are not naturally engrained in your mindset.
I recommend going through the concepts in order especially the CR portion since it is important to master identifying conclusions to be able to infer, and it is important to learn inference questions to allow you to pre-think for assumptions.
Although it is recommended to skip certain answer explanations if you got them right, I highly recommend going through the explanations that e-GMAT provides since most of the times many questions can have multiple assumptions you don't necessarily notice or you may have gotten a question right by chance and not by proper techniques.
I also think going through the CR portion before the RC portion helps since many RC questions are based on inference and assumptions skills that you can master in the CR portion.
Make sure to use both the Scholaranium and the OG questions to test out your skills since both these sources provide the most similar types of questions that you will see on the real test.
I strongly recommend signing up for e-GMAT since many courses have good material and provide you with most of the information the GMAT tests, but e-GMAT Verbal shows you the best way to answer questions efficiently. I will be taking the GMAT once again in April and will post my results from results..
Target Test Prep made a major difference to my GMAT Score overall, especially since I was aiming to obtain a high quant score. Before the course, I was mainly scoring around Q40, but I knew that if I were to improve I would have to prioritize this section since I was not scoring at a high percentile. I took other courses and managed to score a 620 on my first GMAT attempt (Q43, V 31). While my Verbal was not as high either, I knew that it was important for me to achieve a high quant score since I am looking to switch to a career that values quant highly. My goal was to reach at least Q47.
I initially began taking other courses that did cover the fundamentals, but non were as comprehensive as TTP. Several other courses I checked out focused mostly on techniques (i.e. smart numbers, testing answers), but I knew that understanding the algebraic approach initially would ultimately help facilitate my understanding of the problems to then apply these kinds of techniques. I believe TTP has the best dashboard and comprehensive modules overall, allowing you to customize your own plan depending on how much time you have before your test. Having failed to obtain my target score previously, I decided to take more time to study for about 3 months (the first two dedicated to TTP) until I felt prepared to score highly on my second try. I did study approximately 3 hours a day to go over TTP and I went through each Module twice, initially focusing on understanding the concepts and later focusing on time management for each test on every Module.
Since I started scoring between 47-49 on my practice CATs, I felt more confident but I did schedule a call with Jeff who gave me a couple of tips to make sure that I was ready for my test and immediately booked my exam for 2 weeks after that call. I found that a lot of times there were concepts I found difficult to grasp entirely, but the Must Know page was of great help to focus on what the most important concepts are for the test and relaxed my mind from stressing to have to know every single concept. Overall, I recommend going through each module at least once since I understand that not everyone has time and based on your performance in the diagnostics, focus on your weak areas that are thankfully displayed on the TTP dashboard. It took a while, but I was finally able to score above a 700 and I owe my thanks to TTP.
Final Score 710; Q49; V38
