I definitely picked the teams based on favorite jersey colors, cutest team mascot, and best-looking point guards!

In all honesty, I think this is a good strategy. When most people are choosing based off of research and statistics, their brackets are likely to clump together in the middle of the pack. My feeling is that the people who choose more randomly are likely to rise to the very top or fall to the very bottom of the pool. I'm not saying to choose a 16-seed over a 1-seed, but for the sweet-16/elite-8 forward I think random picking will yield results at either extreme, and keep your bracket out of the middle.

I won my 68-person work bracket a few years ago by choosing based on weather conditions at the schools. I think UCLA and Florida were in the finals.... Hence why I said I don't know sports, but I'm not in experienced :-)

My younger brother back in 1998 picked Kentucky Wildcats without knowing a thing about college basketball because he thought their logo was cool.

Kentucky won it all that year. True story.....

Yeah, randomness definitely has its good days. My mom is beating me, my husband, and my dad (for the record, my husband and dad live and breathe college basketball) and she picks basically based on what teams she thinks are the "nicest." Sometimes she even cheers AGAINST mine and my husband's alma mater if she thinks we're beating someone by too many points.

LOL. How do you even figure out "niceness" of a basketball team?

If any of the starters have visible tattoos, they're not nice. If their coach always seems to be scowling, they're not nice. If their fans have unsavory reputations, they're not nice...etc. She has it down to a science, I tell you!

ZOINNK (why's his name in all caps?) is ranked 31st. Tied with: isa, RahlowJenkins, thedudeabides, nink, Obama, AtTheWaffleHouse.

And I would just like to point out that despite getting crap from GoBruins all day for being in last place because of some upsets that didn't work out for me, I ended the day tied with him in points.

I will bask in my second place tie for the rest of the morning. With Kansas/Oklahoma picked for the final, I don't think I'll be around much longer.

What's so funny about this is that BillyJeans didn't pick the two teams for the final game or a champion and is mathematically eliminated from winning the whole thing. Doh!

Either way, I'm a late bloomer. At least that's what my mom tells me.
