Could a mod arrange for whomever wins the bracket to be awarded ~100 kudos? That would make it a little more worth my time.

Until then, my bracket shows a final showdown between Radford and North Dakota.

When Losing Leads to Winning

Interesting research done by professors at Wharton School of Business on March Madness

New fact about N.C.A.A. basketball: teams that are behind by one point at halftime are actually more likely to win than teams that are one point ahead. This striking finding comes courtesy of a terrific new paper by my Wharton colleagues, Jonah Berger and Devin Pope. Their findings are summarized in this graph, which collects info from 6,572 N.C.A.A. basketball games since 2005

Heh, give an 8th grader the data and she can create that simple chart for you. Does Warthon really think advertising this "genious" research can do their name any good? Or, oh wait, it's all about the idea of doing it in the first place....
In anyway, quant people wouldn't be impressed by this at all.

Interesting. I remember reading that in 8-9 matchups the 9 seed has actually won a larger percentage of the games.

President Obama's Final Four picks (Louisville, UNC, Pitt, Memphis) match my Final Four picks...

I am not sure what to think of this....

That's actually a very fair and conservative pick. Memphis vs Uconn for me was a big decision too.

Olive is my pick to win it all.

*WARNING, COMPLETELY SEXIST COMMENT TO FOLLOW*

Olive, did you use the jersey color or mascot cuteness factor to pick winners?

I have them beating UCLA in 1st round, getting knocked out by Villanova in 2nd round.

P.S. - 29 members so far in the pool. Ryguy will be 30th.

How about a $1000 direct deposit into our bank accounts? I think that is totally necessary :-).

Rahlow - since no one has hello kitty uniforms I was at a loss for what to do, so I blind folded myself and randomly clicked teams on my computer. Picking me to win it all is definitely a good decision ;).
