I don't think the sports teams use "Violets" anymore, for obvious reasons. Instead they've adopted the "Bobcats", which is almost more pathetic considering that's the name of the library's index system (BOBst card CATalogue). :lol: :(

Re: NYU - well, wikipedia still says they're still called the Violets. While the Bobcat is the official mascot.

From what I know, there are only 8 schools.

- U Chicago
- Emory
- NYU
- Brandeis

woo hoo! My alma mater (Minnesota) made it for the first time since having all of its games and tournament wins completely wiped out due to academic scandal. it has been awhile.

Isnt the coach of Minnesota Tubby Smith?? Ex Kentucky coach?

And Kentucky didnt make it to the dance again this year.

That should be like a vindication for Tubby Smith!

I'm in! I'm a HUGE college basketball fan. I've joined the group but for some reason my laptop is being odd and won't let me pick teams when I try to edit my choices so right now I just had Yahoo overwrite with popular picks for now. But, I will warn you all...I've been in my dad's (all-male) office pool for years and usually get first or second. ;) If you know where I went to undergrad, you'd understand!
