Hi All,
I graduated from a top 25 school with a 3.4 GPA (3.65 Major GPA) in industrial and systems engineering. I scored a 730 on the GMAT on my first go (49Q, 40V, 8 IR, N/A AWA) -- I feel I could definitely get a 760 if I took another go but I don't know if it's worth a retake. I also had a minor in business finance (3.75 minor GPA I believe). I work for a fairly well known consulting firm (very top firm for what we do) and will have 2 years of experience when applying. What is my shot at schools like Columbia, UT-Austin, UCLA, and Wharton?
Thanks
Hi there,
Wow 730 is an excellent score. I have no doubt you can improve your score. But after a certain level your GMAT score improvement becomes counterproductive. Like adding a couple of years of work ex will do more for your profile than increasing your score 20-30 points. Still you have decent chance of getting in to McCombs, Columbia, Anderson and Wharton. In that order. Wharton has large class size and few have lower GMAT score averages. Hope this helps.
Best,
